British cruiserweight prospect David Haye dismantled veteran UK fight scene campaigner Garry Delaney last night in a match that was made in the heavyweight division. Haye’s performance was steady and measured before he lowered the boom on Delaney via right hand and Delaney opted not to come out for the rest of the fight after the third. The fight was Haye’s second “comeback” fight since being stopped by Carl “The Cat” Thompson in an IBO cruiserweight title bid. It was a hard-hitting match in which Haye was put down finally in the fifth round. Haye will continue to campaign in the cruiserweight division from now on at domestic and possibly European level before stepping up his pace once again.
