Harper had a great month defending her crown – World Boxing Association

Terri Harper had an excellent month despite various inconveniences beyond her control. She was able to defend her World Boxing Association (WBA) super welterweight belt this May 27 against Ivana Habazin and was recognized with Honorable Mention by the pioneer organization.

Initially, Harper was scheduled to defend against Cecilia Braekhus on May 20 in Dublin during the same event that pitted Chantelle Cameron and Katie Taylor. However, a last minute cold forced Braekhus to withdraw from the fight.

Harper was able to get a new opponent to fight days later in Manchester and it was a well-prepared opponent like the Croatian, who put up a tough fight but was not enough to overcome the champion.

It was the first defense for Harper, who keeps her good rhythm and managed to retain the crown in front of her people. Her record now stands at 14 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw and 6 knockouts.
