Morrell made the first ceremonial pitch at Twins-Red Sox game  – World Boxing Association

David Morrell was the guest of honor to make the first ceremonial pitch during the game between the Minnesota Twins and the Boston Red Sox at Target Field last Monday.

The World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight champion is one of the Cuban fighters who have managed to stand out in the world arena today and has made Minneapolis his home. He was invited to the home of the Twins and received the honor of throwing out the first pitch to a standing ovation from the fans.

“It’s an honor to throw out the first pitch at such an iconic sporting event,” said the West Indian. “Boxing has been my passion for as long as I can remember but it’s always exciting to try something new and show my skills beyond the ring. I want to thank the Minnesota Twins, along with The Armory and Warriors Boxing for this unforgettable opportunity,” he continued.

Morrell is currently training and awaiting a date for his next fight. There are reports that he could face David Benavidez in September or October, but nothing is set in stone regarding his next appearance.
