Tonight at Cicero Stadium in Chicago, IL, Tecate sponsors Solo Boexo, televised live on the Telefutura network starting at 8 PM. The bill is toped by the always exciting former world super flyweight champion Martin “El Gallito” Castillo, 32-2 (17), who faces the hard punching Jonathan Perez, 13-2 (10), on a shared 8 Count/Top Rank promotion.
Castillo is on the comeback trail after losing his WBA title last year in Japan and has vowed to return to world title contention. Perez comes from a long tradition of sluggers in his native Colombia and was recently involved in highly contentious WBO Latino title fights in two weight divisions.
On the undercard, unbeaten light flyweight Giovannu Segura, 18-0-1 (14), clashes with veteran Wilfrido Valdez, 23-2-3 (16), and light welterweight sensation Jorge Paez, Jr., 17-1 (10), squares off with Aaron Drake, 12-5 (9), over six rounds.
