Risum Boxing: Kiilu vs. Thomas Voted WBF Fight Of The Year
When Risum Boxing’s David “Silent Danger†Kiilu (27-8-2, 14 KOs) fought former European champion Cyril Thomas for the WBF super featherweight title back in April 2007, it was a close, entertaining and very competitive fight. Both boxers had their moments, and the crowd of around 5000 spectators got their moneys worth at the Palais Des Sports I Saint Quentin, France.
Unfortunately Kiilu lost the decision by scores of 115-113, 115-113 and 116-113, but now he can be proud that his performance contributed to what the WBF is calling their “European Fight of the Year 2007â€.
“We are very proud that David’s fight against Thomas has received this award, as the WBF are involved with so many good fights all over Europe each year, says Kiilu-manager Henrik Risum. “But it was a very good fight, and I think they are spot on when they give the award to this fight.”
