Boxing Info: Scott Quigg Vs Gheorgie Ghiompirica

Bury fighter – Scott Quigg, is looking for another victory tonight as he faces Romanian Gheorgie Ghiompirica in a 4 round Super Bantamweight Contest. Ghiompirica was a last minute opponent for Quigg – but despite knowing little about the Romanian boxer – Quigg was relaxed and smiling at the weighin yesterday.

Quigg arrived at the GH Carnall Leisure Centre early yesterday with trainer Mike Jackson – fresh from a training session at Brian Hughes’s gym.

Quigg confidently stepped up to the scales for a check-weight but as Ghiompirica was not present – their official weighin will take place today.

The Bury-man has a perfect five wins out of five contests since turning professional nearly 12 months ago and was looking forward to the fight.

The two men will fight on the undercard of the Matchroom Sports promoted fightnight to be screened live on Sky Sports, tonight.
