Apart from the European Super Bantamweight title main event between Rendall Munroe and Salem Bouaita – there was also an exciting undercard at Harvey Hadden Leisure Centre in Nottingham, England on Friday night.

Top of the support bill saw Ian ʽthe Dappaʼ Napa face experienced banger – Colin Moffett – in a bid to win the Lonsdale Belt outright.

Cockney Lad Napa, looked cool as he entered the ring wearing sunglasses while tough Belfast boxer Moffett had former Commonwealth Light Welter Champion Eamonn McGee and trainer John Breen at his side.

Hardly moving from their ʽspotʼ, the two men box toe-to-toe working in close but Napa has landed some cleaner shots and good body-shots. Spending much of the contest fighting against the ropes – both men continued to keep up the work-rate but Napa is the one finding more ʽgapsʼ to punch through.

In the last half minute of round eleven, a swinging right from Napa – and a slip of the foot by the Belfast man sends Moffett to the canvas, but he jumps up quickly to take the count from Referee Mickey Vann.

Napa slips over in the corner during the last minute of the twelfth and final round but thatʼs his only ʽrealʼ slip-up during the fight as he wins by unanimous decision: 119-109, 117-111 and 119-108

On the undercard, popular light welterweight Scott ‘Super Scotty’ Haywood of Derby made light work of Frenchman Frederic Gosset.

Having sustained a cut in round one, Gosset, 11-44-2 (3), was then put on the canvas in the first half of round two. Reluctantly, he got to his feet but the referee called a halt to the contest at 1:06 of the second frame.

Haywood improves to 18 wins versus 2 losses, one of which is accredited to John ʽFireballʼ Fewkes by a single point during an eight rounder in 2006.

Light heavyweight ʽGolden Boyʼ Adie Whitmore of Alfreton knocked out Sheffield’s Carl Wild in the first round of a scheduled six rounder. Wild, 6-8 (1), fell very heavily on the canvas and was tended to by paramedics. He was later helped to his feet. Whitmore’s record now stands at eight straight wins, five inside the distance, against no losses.

Leicester middleweight Kevin ʽImmaculateʼ Concepcion, 11-0 (3), outpointed ʽGypsy Boyʼ Ernie Smith, 12-67-1 (0), over six rounds to score a 60-54 points win.

Light middle Sam Webb, 10-1 (3), of Chislehurst gained a points victory over ʽwork-horseʼ David Kirk, 11-71-3 (0), of Kirkby in Ashfield.

Eastwood middleweight Olly Newham garnered an impressive win as Plymouth’s Paul Brown had to take the count in round one and did well to survive the end of the frame. Newham didnʼt seem to waste any chances – quickly getting to work after breaks but despite this he still sustained a cut below the right eye and bloody nose in round three.

Brown took the count again in round three and then was knocked out in the first 20 seconds of the fourth and final round. It was a worrying time as paramedics tended to him on the canvas, but he did get to his feet to take the applause from the crowds.

Newham wins by KO, taking his record to 3 straight wins, 2 by TKO, against no losses while Brown suffers his first loss to fall to 2-1 (1).

Middleweight Kevin Hammond, 2-0 (1), of Lincoln forced opponent Gavin Brook, 0-1-1 (0), of Plymouth to retire at the end of round one having sustained a bad cut to the bridge of the nose.

Derby welterweight Steve Jevons had good pro-debut, having Kensington opponent Bekhi Moyo, 0-8-1 (0), of Jimmy Gill’s gym on the canvas in round three before winning on points after four frames.

Super featherweights Barrington Brown, 5-3-2 (2), of Nottingham and Dean Mills, 2-1-1 (1), of Bridgewater fought to a four round draw.

Callum Smith has pulled out of the David Morrell fight which was due to take place in his hometown Liverpool on 18rh April. I was looking forward to this fight. Ben Whittaker will be headlining the event now. talksp […]
  • Errol Spence v Tim Tszyu - June 2026 4/7/2026
The clash between Spence and Tszyu had reportedly been lined up to take place in June. Tim did suffer a cut in his bout against Nurja, which could potentially delay proceedings. I am concerned that Spence has not fought for years now and having no warm up. This may show that he has not much left and cashing in. Tszyu secured a one-sided unanimous decision wi […]

  • Devin Haney vs Rolly Romero collapses 4/3/2026
Negotiations for a WBO and WBA welterweight unification clash between Devin Haney and Rolly Romero have reportedly collapsed. Organisers had planned for the fight to headline a PBC event on May 30, live on Amazon Prime PPV. Haney has turned down the fight. The reason for Haney pulling the plug is that he wasn’t offered a guaranteed purse. PBC instead propose […]
  • Rene Santiago to defend his WBA and WBO junior flyweight belts in Japan 4/2/2026
Rene’s not talked about much. Even here in Puerto Rico he’s not as well known as Xander Zayas or even Oscar Collazo. But he’s got 2 of the 4 belts in the division, and tonight he defends them against Masataka Taniguchi in Japan. Gotta hand it to him. This is his 3rd straight fight in Japan. I admire any fighter who’s willing to go halfway around the world to […]

What is happening between AJ and Usyk? They were seen holding hands as Usyk was showing AJ graves of Ukrainian soldiers. Is this just mind games to help AJ gain confidence to […]
