WBA Intercontinental Light Heavy champ Vyacheslav Uzelkov headlines K 2 East´s show in Kiev June 14 billed as “the Night of Steel Power”. Who Uzelkov will fight hasn’t been determined yet. In the co-feature middle Maxim Bursak will defend the IBF Youth title.
Cuban heavyweight star Odlanier Solis is still having problems with getting a visa for the US. Thus his fight against Fransois Both will now go ahead July 4 in Turkey on the Sinan Samil Sam vs Matt Skelton show.
Solis tunes up this Saturday, June 7, against overmatched Dutchman Harry Duiven, Jr, who at one time beat his own father in what was claimed to be a legitimate professional boxing match. The Hatterheim show is an annual charity event put on by Hako Sevecke.
Norwegian cruiser veteran Thomas Hansvoll returns on the Kessler vs Sartison show June 21 in Copenhagen. Hansvoll faces Argentinian Juan Manuel Garay. Also added to the bill is a fight for the unofficial Nordic title between feathers Rikard Lundby, 6-0, from Sweden and Norwegian Andreas Evensen, 7-1, in a fine matchup.
In regard to Mikkel Kessler, promoter Mogens Palle is already looking forward to a possible showdown against Roy Jones, Jr, and then perhaps a rematch vs Joe Calzaghe.
Mandatory challenger for the winner of Kessler vs Sartison is Danilo Haussler.
He´s back: 50-year old former European Junior Middle champ Edip Sekowitsch (a/k/a Secovic) returned to action June 1 in Vienna after eight years out and knocked out German Steve Klockow. Sekowitsch, now fighting at light heavy, is calling out for Graciano Rocchigiani.
