On Saturday, 6th December, at the Nottingham Trent FM Arena, England, in a Hennessy Sports promoted fight night – Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch takes on Jean Pascal for the vacant WBC Super-Middleweight Title.
With a record of 23 wins – 19 of which have been by KO, Froch is a classy boxer with a big punch aptly named – ‘the sting’. It’s not been easy for the Nottingham boxer. Having endured a frustrating time with a string of disappointments Froch has worked his way up the ‘old-school way’ and had to wait his chance but is finally getting a top-level fight on primetime TV and he’s more than ready.
Haiti-born Pascal is a fast, slick boxer – likened to the style of Roy Jones Junior. With 21 wins (14 by KO) – he too is unbeaten and like Froch – is hungry for the win.
“He’ll be looking to counter-punch, move around and use his slick skills” admits Froch, “I need to start catching him with some big blows but I predict it will be a mid to late-round stoppage”.
Well aware that Canadian Pascal is no ‘pushover’- Froch promises to be in the best shape possible on the night. “I’m excited and really looking forward to it” adds Froch, “I think there’ll be a real ‘tear-up’ in the ring!”.
