  • WBC Heavyweight Champ Deontay Wilder On Povetkin Defense

    Undefeated WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder hosted a media workout Tuesday at the Skyy Gym in Northport, Ala. as he prepares to become the first reigning American heavyweight champion to travel to Russia to defend his title.

    In exactly one month, on Saturday, May 21, Wilder (36-0, 35 KOs), of Tuscaloosa, Ala., will put his world title on the line against mandatory challenger and native Russian,Alexander Povetkin (30-1, 22 KOs), in Moscow.

  • LATV/PAP Sports Partner To Televise Borizteca Fight Cards

    PAP Sports, a professional sports television distribution and marketing company, today announced a Two-Year Television agreement with LATV Network. The deal includes the broadcast of a professional boxing series under the title of World Class Boxing Series in 2016 and 2017.

    The two-year broadcasting deal between PAP and LATV Networks includes broadcasting weekly boxing shows on a tape-delayed basis. (more…)

  • Reyes Manon Sosa Ready For Pro Debut May 13 Tijuana

    After a seven-year amateur career, Reyes Manon Sosa is ready to go into the professional boxing ranks.

    Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Reyes is the younger brother of long time world class contender Merqui Sosa.

    He will be debuting professionally on 13 May, on the boxing card named “Redemption” to be held in the Mezzanine Hall of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. (more…)

  • Prospect No More: Spence Graduates With Algieri Win

    Undefeated rising welterweight star Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. (20-0, 17 KOs) went emphatically from prospect to contender with a fifth-round stoppage of former world champion Chris Algieri (21-3, 8 KOs) on Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on NBC Saturday night from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

    “It meant a lot to get the stoppage,” said Spence Jr. “I did something Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan couldn’t do. That shows where I’m at in the welterweight division.”

    Spence Jr. was superior in every regard as he took control of the fight from the beginning with world-class bodywork and blazing speed. Algieri was expected to be a major step-up for the 2012 U.S. Olympian, but was unable to bother his opponent despite landing 31 percent of his punches to Spence Jr.’s 30 percent per CompuBox stats.   • Super Feather Prospect Barrios Defeats Veteran Gabejan

    IBF #15 super-featherweight ranked contender, Mario Barrios, remained undefeated with a dominating unanimous decision victory over Edgar Gabejan (26-33-6, 9 KOs) a veteran of over 500 rounds, improving his record to (15-0, 8 KOs).

    Barrios, who hails from San Antonio, TX, came out guns blazing, dropping Gabejan in round one. Towering over his opponent, Barrios, who stands over six feet tall, used his height and reach to perfection as he landed precise punches throughout the remainder of the fight. (more…)
