  • Redkach, Zlaticanin Clash In Lightweight Eliminator June 13

    With a shot at a lightweight world title on the line, undefeated world-ranked contenders Ivan “El Terrible” Redkach and Dejan “El Dinamita” Zlaticanin will square off in a 12-round eliminator Saturday, June 13, in the main event of Showtime Boxing on SHO Extreme at 7 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast at Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Ala.

    In the co-feature, unbeaten top 10-ranked super welterweight Julian “J Rock” Williams (19-0-1, 11 KOS, 1 ND), of Philadelphia, will be opposed by Armenia’s Armen Ovsepyan (14-4, 11 KOs), of Glendale, Calif., in a ten-round bout. (more…)

  • Thurman vs. Collazo Headlines Debut Of PBC On ESPN

    Undefeated superstar Keith “One Time” Thurman (25-0, 21 KOs) returns to the ring in his home state to face former world champion Luis Collazo (36-6, 19 KOs) on Saturday, July 11, in the main event of the inaugural Premier Boxing Champions on ESPN show live at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT from the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, FL.

    The co-main event of the evening features an exciting matchup between undefeated top prospect Tony Harrison (21-0, 18 KOs) and quick fisted Willie Nelson (23-2-1, 13 KOs) in an event that will kick off live coverage of PBC on ESPN.   • Johnson Replaces Ngumbu As Opponent For Beterbiev

    Alexander “The Great” Johnson (16-2, 7 KOs) will replace Doudou Ngumbu as the opponent for Artur Beterbiev (8-0, 8 KOs) on the Friday, June 12 edition of Premier Boxing Champions on Spike event taking place at UIC Pavilion in Chicago with coverage beginning at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

    Heavyweight prospect Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller possesses adult-sized power, and he’s the one making opponents think twice when he steps in with them, and starts unloading power shots.

  • 2015 Boxcino Champ John Thompson Back In Training Camp

    Just two weeks after winning the 2015 Boxcino Jr. Middleweight tournament, John “Apollo Kidd” Thompson (17-1, 6 KO’s), is already getting back in shape and wants a quick ring return.

    Thompson won his title by stopping Brandon Adams in two rounds on May 22 in Corona, California, in what was the last show of the long running ESPN Friday Night Fights series. (more…)

  • South Africa’s Tommy Oosthuizen Defends IBO Title Saturday

    Aware of the red-hot action at the top of the light-heavyweight division, IBO champion Tommy Oosthuizen intends crashing the party before the year is out.

    The unbeaten South African (24-0-2, 14 KOs) defends his title for the first time at Emperors Palace, east of Johannesburg, on Saturday against Robert Berridge (26-2-1, 21 KOs) of New Zealand.

  • “King” Corito Reigns Supreme In Maltese Title Clash

    On Friday night, in the grounds of the incredibly beautiful Monte Kristo Estates in Hal Luqa, Malta, local fans were treated to a magnificent night of International boxing.

    The event, which was headlined by the MBC International Heavyweight title clash between Malta’s very own ‘King’ Billy Corito and the big hitting Latvian Edgars Kalners, was the first event from new promoters Steve Carauna and Mark Calleja, along with a little help from experienced British promoter Stephen Vaughan.   • Scotland’s Prospect Boxing Approaches 20th Promotion

    Prospect Boxing owner Paul Graham has made his blueprint for running a successful boxing promotions company, which ensures he keeps his boxers and himself busy throughout the season.

    Reflecting on his time as a professional promoter, Graham shares some of the lessons he has learned. “Not every lad that turns over from the amateurs will be British, European or World title contenders,” he said.

    “But, with dedication and hard work and the right matchmaking, most can fight for at least a Scottish Area title, which, if matched correctly, can provide both the fighters and the punters the same entertainment you would expect on some of the televised shows. (more…)

  • Nick Blackwell Celebrates O2 Victory Over John Ryder

    Trowbridge warrior Nick Blackwell won the British middleweight title in stunning fashion on Saturday night when stopping Londoner John Ryder inside seven swashbuckling rounds at a sold-out O2 Arena in London, England.

    The win landed Blackwell the coveted Lonsdale belt at the third time of asking and instantly catapulted his name up the world rankings. It also went some way to highlighting the importance of perseverance. (more…)

  • Japan’s Iwasa Promises To Display A “Beautiful Style Of Boxing”

    Japanese star Ryosuke Iwasa heads to Bristol this week ahead of his June 13 battle with Lee Haskins for the IBF interim bantamweight championship and is determined to return to the Land of the Rising Sun with the belt around his waist.
