  • Team Dulorme Steps Way Up To Call Out Manny Pacquiao

    Gary Shaw Productions world title contender, Puerto Rican star Thomas Dulorme (21-1, 14 KO’s), is available to face current WBO welterweight champion, Manny Pacquiao in November, as it seems that Chris Algieri, current WBO junior welterweight champion, may not fight Pacquiao because of money issues.

    “I’m available and willing to fight the best,” said Thomas Dulorme, who currently at 140 pounds is ranked #2 by the WBA, #3 by the WBC, #4 by the IBF, and #8 in the WBO. “Manny Pacquiao may still be looking for a opponent in November, and if that’s the case, I’m ready. (more…)

  • Erislandy Lara Protests Loss To Saul “Canelo” Alvarez

    After landing more punches and connecting with a higher percentage, Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara (19-2-2, 12 KOs) feels he was robbed in his fight with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (44-1-1, 31 KOs) that took place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas this past weekend.

    According to Compubox statistics, Lara landed 107 total punches to Alvarez’s 97 and had a higher connect percentage (28% Lara – 23% Alvarez). [Editor note – Alvarez landed more power punches, 88, compared to Lara’s 52]. (more…)

  • Irish Amateur Boxing Gets Massive Boost From Government

    Michael Ring, TD, Minister of State for Tourism & Sport, today,11th July 2014, announced a special grant of €975,000 to the Irish Amateur Boxing Association (IABA), primarily for boxing clubs.

    Most of the allocation (€750,000) is to further extend the 2011 facilities initiative which was devised to improve boxing facilities and, in particular, facilities to accommodate female boxers. (more…)

  • Chagaev Celebrates WBA Title Win With Chechen President

    When he realized that he had really done it again, former heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev went down to his knees on Sunday night at Ahmat Arena in Grozny, Russia.

    It was legendary Michael Buffer who announced Chagaev’s close but well deserved majority decision win (115-113, 115-113, 114-114) over Fres Oquendo which earned the 35-year-old Uzbek the WBA heavyweight championship for the second time in his career. (more…)

  • Press Statement On Recent Amir Khan Arrest

    Amir Khan was arrested during the early hours of Friday 4th July on suspicion of common assault against two youths. Shortly thereafter he was released on police bail pending further enquiries.

    This was a minor incident involving a misunderstanding between Amir Khan and two other youths.

    On Monday 7th July Amir was notified by the police that the allegations against him had been withdrawn and the matter would not be pursued any further.

    Luke Campbell, MBE, returns to action in Liverpool on July 12 live on sky Sports, and the Olympic hero says he cannot wait to lace the gloves up again.

    Campbell took time off for family reasons after racing to 5-0 in the paid ranks with four stoppage wins since turning pro in July 2013, with his last action a final round stoppage of Scott Moises in February in his first eight-round test. (more…)

    Noe Gonzalez says there will be no repeat of the mistake he made against George Groves when he tackles Rocky Fielding for the WBA Inter-Continental Super Middleweight title at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on July 12, live on Sky Sports.

    The Argentinian-based Uruguayan travelled to London in May 2013 to face Groves on the undercard of Carl Froch’s clash with Mikkel Kessler at The O2, and walked onto a stiff short right-hand from the Hammersmith star in the fifth round that ended the fight. (more…)

    Most eyes will, of course, be on Ruslan Chagaev and Fres Oquendo on July 6 in Grozny when the two ring veterans meet for the vacant WBA world heayvweight championship.

    But there is another big name in the co-feature who wants to get back to old stardom: “The Black Panther” Juan Carlos Gomez faces unbeaten Goran Delic for the WBA International cruiserweight title.
