  • Kenshiro and Olascuaga face to face at press conference    – World Boxing Association

Kenshiro and Olascuaga face to face at press conference    – World Boxing Association

World Boxing Association (WBA) light flyweight champion Kenshiro Teraji went toe-to-toe with American Anthony Olascuaga at the final press conference before their bout this Saturday at the Ariake Arena in Koto Ku, Japan.

Both fighters attended the event with their teams before dozens of journalists.

Teraji, with his black and gold belt on one side and the WBC belt on the other, gave his impressions about the fight. The home fighter was motivated and focused to return to defend at home and intends to keep the championship in his possession.

Olascuaga, for his part, stressed that this opportunity is very important for his career and since he was told that there was the possibility of facing Teraji, he did not hesitate for a moment. The American comes from another continent with a clear objective and wants to surprise the world.

Also at the event were Takuma Inoue and Liborio Solis, who will clash for the vacant WBA bantamweight belt in the evening’s main event.

Kenshiro Teraji defends against Olascuaga in Japan  – World Boxing Association

A new presentation of the World Boxing Association (WBA) light flyweight champion, Kenshiro Teraji, will mark the main fight of the night this Saturday at the Ariake Arena, in Koto Ku, Japan. The unified champion of the division will face young Anthony Olascuaga in an interesting fight.

Kenshiro is coming off a big knockout over Hiroto Kyoguchi in November last year. On that occasion he took the WBA title from him and added it to his showcase, which already had the WBC title.

Teraji is known for his volume of punches and his great physical condition, which makes him capable of demolishing his opponents and fighting at a frenetic pace despite the big challenges he has faced.

Olascuaga comes into this bout because WBO champion Jonathan Gonzalez, who was Teraji’s original opponent, was unable to fight due to illness. The 24 year old took on the challenge and will travel to Asia for this opportunity that is worth gold for his career.

He has a short professional career but his talent is undoubted. The big question is whether his little experience will play against him, but he has the conditions to be crowned and that is what he wants to do in Japan.

Kenshiro’s record is 20 wins, 1 loss and 12 knockouts, while Olascuaga has 5 wins and 3 knockouts.

Olascuaga is a native of Los Angeles and is undefeated in his career. Known as “Princesita”, he is 24 years old and has fought his way to regional champion in just a few fights.

Teraji is the opponent to beat in the division and comes into this defense with a record of 20 wins, 1 loss and 12 knockouts, while Olascuaga has 5 wins, 3 of them by knockout.
