Thread: Foreman vs Holmes Computer Fight Did Anyone Hear About It ??

This happened few weeks ago and supposedly Holmes won by

143-141 Holmes
143-142 Foreman
143-142 Holmes

Does anyone else agree and did anyone hear about it ??

If Foreman fought Holmes George would have won by KO....let me cite some facts: 1. Foreman hit harder than pretty much anyone Holmes ever fought 2. Holmes was not Muhammed Ali 3. Foreman got better with age 4. Foreman could punch AND box

When you get totally screwed up from Renaldo Snipes and Tim Witherspoon....Big George would just ravage you

He got caught by Snipes when Holmes was asleep he wern't taking Snipes serious and he got back up and then kicked Snipes ass all across the ring Witherspoon was very very good boxer who could bang Foreman in his younger days i don't think would of dealt with stick and move fighter like Holmes very well i mean Young totally outboxed him yes it wern't quite a prime Foreman but he wern't far away from his former prime i think unless Foreman catches Holmes early then Holmes would win decision or tko because Foremans stamina back then was questionable.

It would be a very interesting matchup. I love George just like anyone else here. I'm pretty sure just about every boxing fan loves George Foreman, the guy had one of the most remarkable careers in boxing history.

That being said, in this particular fight I would have to take Holmes by decision. I feel that Holmes, even if he didn't have prime Ali's footwork, was very quick on his feet and had a magnificent jab that I feel he could keep in Foreman's face for 15 rounds. Holmes was a very tough man and could take a punch, just look at the right hand that Shavers dropped him with (which, IMO, would have KO'd the majority of the HWs at that time or today). I definatly think Foreman would put some serious leather on him at some point, but I believe Holmes would survive Foreman's onslaught and outpoint Big George.

I agree with you, but personally I don't think Foreman was the kind of guy who could exploit it. Just a tad slow with his punches, imo.

I wish Foreman didn't lay off after losing to Ali, as you saw in his later fights he became a more technically rounded fighter. I'd rather see a good fight than thinking what could have been.

By the way, has anyone visited the Larry Holmes message board?

Is that the same Computer that the weatherman uses ?

if holmes could dance for 15 rds like he did against tyson at the start of rd 4 then i pick holmes by easy UD but if holmes stopped moving and big george connected,than its lights out larry.
come to think about it, i cant remember holmes ever moving like he did agaisnt tyson in the fights ive seen he was stationary and stands in front of his oponent.
on the other hand i dont rate prime foreman very highly. he had great ko over frazier but it was just a mismatch,frazier just keep coming straight in a getting hit,to fight george like that u need angles and fainting like tyson used to do.
ill still pick larry, he had an iron resolve and ive seen him take tremedous shots that would ko most and kill me

foreman is very modest about the fight if it ever happened in 'champions forever' where he says something like 'thank god' with regard to fighting holmes. but in reality foreman would have hamared holmes imo 8 rounds and his ower would have cought up with holmes.

Well he has same chin same stamina and better jab than Ali did more power than Ali and Ali is quicker on his feet and bit quicker with his hands but there isn't much to seperate them only in speed department which Ali is bit quicker but in all other attributes there about even.

He danced against Shavers he could move aroound ring very well when he had to but he never really had to.
