Default is there really a such thing as unknockable man

im sorry about the topic i didnt know how to put it any other way in short sentence. sometimes i dont even understand myself lol. well what im trying to say is that ive seen alote of fighters with so called iron chins eventually go down. like julio cesar chavez and roberto duran. im guessing they lost there abillity to take a good punch cause they started using drugs and that made there brain weaker. or am i wrong and everybody is vonerable to get knocked out no matter how good of a chin you have?

There's no such thing, even King Kong wasn't invincible, and neither is any man.

The secret of the so called 'Good Chin' is making yourself harder to hit, limiting your opponent's options so you know what's coming, and knowing how to take a punch (moving into it, away from it or like the phrase goes, 'rolling with the punches'). Conditioning and a champion's tenacity plays a big part as well.

Guys like Marciano, LaMotta, Chavez, you name it did a lot of these things and there performances speak for themselves. These guys were so well trained and conditioned that they knew what to do when they're hurt, they were able to fight hurt, or dazed, they knew how to clinch or survive if need be.

A good stance and biomechanics/alignment that doesn't hinder you in any way, and good equipment is important as well.

Anyone can be knocked out, some can take more punishment than others. However, using Mexican sparring gloves in the gym will make you learn to avoid getting hit often, and when you do, their is a noticable difference between competition gloves and Mexican sparring gloves. Mexican sparring gloves are longer down the forarm, which will dispense the 16 oucnces (this is what I use in my gym) more so than regular sparring glove. This creates less of a cushion over the knuckles, which will result in a more hurtful punch. Regular gloves have more cushion above the knuckles for added cushion, which softens the blow. I am not sure if one can develop taking a good shot, and In all my years, it is mostly the snap of the punch that causes the knockout, rather than a heavy punch with no snap....sound about right? or am I mistaken.......

If you see the gloves that professionals use 10 oz or less, it shed a whole new light when it comes to hit and don't get hit.

I do not think so. Hagler had a great chin and was hit by Hearns and was wobbled but stayed up. So the fact he stayed up speaks for itself. And Mugabi didn't even wobble Hagler. So two punchers Hearns and Mugabi didnt knock out Hagler. But was he unknockable? No. Had he not retired after Leonard he would have eventually probably been knocked out. but he had a good chin. I never thought Chavez would be knocked out and then I saw him first knocked down by Randall and then later put down by a Tzyzu right hand. So if a guy can be hit clean anyone can go. Some guys who had great chins like Hagler who knows. Look at how Hagler was built. He had the best solid body for that weight. So to just hurt him would take a guy who can really punch.
