Default swelling after a broken ankle

i had my pot removed last week after 8 weeks of non weight bearing on my leg, the first few days felt like my ankle had cement poured in it was that stiff but i now have almost full range of motion in the ankle now, but i cant weight bear unless i use a crutch and then it feels like im trying to squat 300kg on one leg, and after about an hour of hobbling around my foot puffs out like a balloon would i be better off leaving the swelling to do its thing or putting ice on it.

It's telling you something music. Don't F'N WALK ON ME! lol, take it easy you know the whole drill. You should also keep it elevated at night to help the swelling go down, especially when you go to sleep. Get some ice, get some rest and don't think about walking it off. Hang tough dude.

thing is the hospital have told me to try to weight bare on it as the bone has healed,i went to the docs today to see if there is anything to speed up recovery as i am going away in 4 weeks but he just gave me some pain killers and said exercsice it and if it is no better they will give me physio in 3 weeks. Im not sure what is causing the swelling as there is no break now
