    Default Career mode frustrations

I imagine this has already been discussed but this is the first time I post on this category and I decided to do a little venting

I really like this game and asside from a little too much enfasis on counters I think gameplay if very good. However, career mode has a few things that take away from the game.

I like the idea of having rivalries but this game REALLY blew the idea way out of proportion.

Why is it that the guy I beat is the champion? What's the thrill of going up in weight and fighting for the title in a new weight class if its the same guy I already beat up like 4 times? I mean, If I am not mistaken there has only been 2 fighters in history who have ever been Middleweight champion and gone up to be a Heavyweight champion and imagine my supprise when my fighter is going to join this ultimate elite club and I see this same a-hole I have beat 5 times has already done this because he is the champion again I mean what are the fwoking odds of that? When my fighter fights for a title I expect it to be from some of the known champions not from this guy I already beat 5 times.

Talking about name champions. I like the idea that sometimes you fight these guys as you are coming up but it kind of sucks that that's about the only time you see them. Yesterday I fought Sugar Ray Robbinson and it sure as hell wasn't for the WW title it my fighters 5th fight and SRR had a reccord of 1 - 1. Here is a guy who won like his firs 90 somthing fights and according to this game he can't get by to fights without loosing

OK vent over In general, cool game. I can't wait to get internet set up to play on-line.

Yeah i hear ya. The rivalries are a bit lame. Plus it'd be nice if you could smack your rival up a bit at the weight in...

    Without the gloves

Also, i didnt know that you cant custom create a boxer and take em on line. Huge disapointment

    How do you mean Jim?

Do you mean you cant use created characters as in the boxer you made from scratch?

Or do you mean you cant use the actual boxers that you have put through career mode and given them stats and styles to suit you?

Or can you not use either?

By the way my offline carreer fighter retired at the ripe old age of 65.

I used Ray Mo, right now he looks like a worn down white James Toney.

Maybe I'll post some screens tomorrow.

I didn't retire him yet but, the EA boxing commission won't let me fight anymore.

I hear ya dude, it really fucked me off too. What pisses me off is that in Fight Night 2004, all the real boxers were top of the rankings. Also, you had a results list so you could see fights that were happening around your division. Also, fighters wore the belt they held to the ring. Why is it that when you win a fucking belt now, you don't see your fighter with the title? It's just retarded.

Like you said, the rivals thing is stupid. I think more freedom to make fights would help you create your own rivalries. If you lose a fight, fight the guy again, should you win...a rivalry is created as a trilogy will be in place.

EA has a habit of having great ideas for a game, and then taking them off in a follow up title. The fucked up FIFA in a big way with that.

Record on my current fighter is 60 - 1. That loss was to Ray Robbinson. He is real good when you meet him after becoming champion.

I customised a Miles fighter and finally retired today. Hard level of course and a record of 75 wins (74 by ko) and 1 loss which came at the end.

Im too far gone to avenge it. Career mode does suck .

Ive retired as Barrera and Toney already as undefeated P4P best fighters of their generation. And that was a long while back.

After being myself and retiring Im done with the game.
