Damn, I was looking forward to catching a couple fights before I hit the hay.

I like Nascar. Don't blame Nascar, ESPN could have easily put this fight on ESPN or one of its 4 or 5 channels. ESPN is a shitty station....on that we can all agree.

Nascar isn't even a sport. I don't see why it's even on ESPN in the first place, let alone why it's taking over Friday Night Fights.

At least Nascar is a big draw...The fu*%$#& cancelled fights a few weeks ago for World Series Of Poker

Nascar is a sport. Those guys put thier lives on the line just like boxers do for our entertainment......yeah it may be a redneck silly team sport......but I enjoy it alot. Boxing and racing are my two main passions.

Sports are played by ATHLETES. Driving around in a car doesn't make you an athlete.






NASCAR is as much of a sport as the World Series of Poker.

If you dont think performing with precision in a 140 degree car isn't an athlete I don't know what is..... The Dakkar rally is 14 or 16 days in the world's roughest terrain.....if you think Stephen Hawking could do that you are mistaken.

Completely agree Boozeboxer. I'm a big fan of NASCAR myself, and the things these drivers go through in the car is amazing. I remember last year at Taladegga one of the drivers lost 30 lbs in the car. That's crazy and one mistake costs you. It's a motorsport, plain and simple.

And while it isn't the main event, the Busch series is still a big deal and unlike all other minor leagues, a lot of the top drivers compete in it. Just look at tonights race, Kyle Busch won and Carl Edwards finished second. They are two of the top drivers in the sport competing so of course that is going to take precedent. Not to mention it still drew like 80 thousand fans.

It's ESPN's goof but it wasn't bad for me on the west coast where the fights started just 30 minutes past their normal time.

CC Amat. I can understand while people are pissed......because nothing replaces boxing....but that the same time you have to respect the sport I believe.

Nascar drivers are athletes because they have to bee in good condition to drive for hours during a race combined with G force, heat , etc. I'm not a huge fan, but I've seen clips on some of the workout regimines the drivers go through to stay in shape. On another note, I put a tape in for FNF and went to bed. Anyone know what time (EST) it came on?
