    Default Question about thirst

I'm sure everyone's noticed, that when you're thirsty, you're able to drink a lot faster than if you were not that thirsty. (Once, in the summer we were burning off a field, and naturally I got very thirsty. Once I had a bottle of water, I was literally able to turn it all the way upside down and pout it in my mouth, and I was able to drink it as fast as gravity could pull the water out!!. The 2nd water bottle took a little longer to kill).

But my question is, when you're very thirsty, does your throat actually widen to allow more intake of fluids, or is it just a psychological thing? (Same thing goes with hunger, when you're very hungry, it's like you can swallow with chewing it only 2 or 3 times. But if you're not that hungry, it takes a little longer to chew and swallow.)

There's a very scientific explanation for this...
If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.

When your body craves water it releases certain enzymes which cause you to salivate and produce moisture in the throat (remeber the throat cleanses air before it enters the lkungs so it's in the bodies interest to keep it wet and mucuosy.

When you get dried out this mucous allows water to be taken in with ease.
