    Default Don't see it

Based on his dominate win over the great Marquez, I can't see how Pacquiao would even have a chance against Mayweather. It's not the fact that Mayweather won. It's the way he won. Pacquiao, despite being more control now than he was in the past is still a reckless fighter compared to Marquez. Mayweather would have a field day with him. Pacquiao would get himself off balanced and Mayweather would make him pay every time. Mayweather-Pacquiao would really be more lopsided than Mayweather-Marquez was

Have to agree with that, a few months ago would have had it 50/50 but after seeing this fight Floyd would make Pac look silly. Even Mosley getting in on the act but peeps are getting carried away. The Mosley that fought Mayorga was getting beat up until the knock so imagine what Floyd would do to him. Mosley looked quick against Margarito but even a Fat Vargas would look quick against him. Mosley is way past it and would be similur to pac-hoya.

I agree and have been saying this for a while. Pac may beat guys like dela hoya and hatton but they are no floyd mayweather. Floyd has awesome defence and power is a massive part of pacs game plan. Hes gotta be able to hurt you to win and to do that you have to hit cleanly which will be something he cant and wont do against mayweather.

I don't know if it would be more lopsided, Pac presents an entirely different challege, but I still think Mayweather would win decisively. I think if he'd gone all out he could've stopped Marquez tonight and I think he'd be able to do the same thing to Pacquiao. I do think a Pacquiao - Mayweather fight would be more competitive though.

IMO, Pac and Williams are the two biggest threats to Mayweather, and not necessarily in that order.

what was it that you saw, that was suprising in this fight? to base your new (or not new) oppinion pac has no chance now against floyd?

Plus you know you saying pac has no chance just sealed the ko win for pac against floyd.

To answer VD's question, PBF would be Pac's most difficult fight if it happens. With Mayweather's defense, Pac has to use his speed to hurt Mayweather. Pac can hurt Mayweather and aside from his speed and being a southpaw, his punching power is better than Marquez. Remember, Pac dropped Marquez many times in just one round and Mayweather did it only once on Marquez.

Overall, Mayweather though has the advantage over Pac but it will be truly exciting if he fights Pac.

Did you not see the fight? It's pretty obvious the different level in skills Mayweather has. Pacquiao is fast. Mayweather is faster. Marquez can deal with Pac. But not with Mayweather. I don't see what Pac has that would trouble Mayweather. Pacquiao has looked great recently. But that's cuz he faced 3 fighters (Diaz, De La Hoya and Hatton) who couldn't hit him. You think Mayweather will have that same problem?

    you didnt answer my question.

Coming into the fight everyone know it was a handicap match. a welterweight vs a lightweight, majority knew jmm would get dominated. Nothing suprising.

Pac has faced three guys who couldnt hit him, Diaz de la hoya and hatton. 2 out of 3 of those results shocked the world. I dont think floyd would have the same trouble hitting pac, Juan Diaz and Casa had no trouble hitting JMM either but did they win?

I somewhat agree with Julius on this. Speed and skillwise, Mayweather dominated Marquez but there is also a very important factor here that needs to be considered seriously: Mayweather's WEIGHT!!!. Marquez was like bulldozing a mountain. He could not hurt Mayweather and that's the reason Mayweather was potshotting him.

    Great win for Mayweather though.

you have to remember the marquez pac is at par with was at 130lbs. i didn't see anything in the floyd-marquez fight that i didn't expect. marquez doesn't carry the extra weight well, even when he fought at 135 he was already struggling. i believe pac would also dominate this version of jmm that fought tonight. although i would favor floyd over pac, i don't think it would be as easy as the way he dismantled marquez. pac imo would have a real chance.

1st of all styles make fights.
    2) Marquez had no business fighting @ 144 or what was supposed to be 144 Pac would've KOed the JMM who fought tonight
    3) Pac is a completely different animal than Marquez first off because of the southpaw stance and because he is the only fighter since Judah (another quick southpaw) who will have the speed to trouble Mayweather

by turning pac in to more of a boxer does that make him more readible for Mayweather?
