Default The Winner of Pac/Mayweather will be my #1 of ALL TIME

I know I'm gonna get a lot of flack for saying this. I love Sugar Ray Robinson as much as anyone, but going back over Floyd's career recently I've been thinking that there has never been a fighter with all of Floyd's attributes. Now I don't think, at least since Henry Armstrong, there has been a fighter like Pac.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I think this would be the fight of the century, two ATG's going at it in their absolute prime. I say inside the ring Floyd is as good or better than anyone who has ever fought, including SRR. And of course Pac has turned into a once in a lifetime fighter as well.

Winner of this fight is my #1 of all time. I'm coming out and saying it.

A year ago, I would've said no way, but I'm starting to think I am wrong and these 2 guys are just about as good as there has ever been. I think I will always see SRR as number 1, but these 2 guys aint far away now.

Pac surprsies me every time he fights, but as great as the guy is I think he will go the same way as Marquez did if he fights PBF. I hope I'm wrong.

I agree the winner will def be at the top. But Roy Jones is the best I've ever seen. That includes the old guys too...But I will admit that Manny is now now very close. But I've never seen him against a slick/boxer and if can manage to beat the slickest of them all right now in Floyd then Manny will be the best. Floyd still has some work to do at WW even if he does beat pac.

I don't think Floyd or Manny have taken on really HUGE fights...Manny's had more tough fights than Floyd but there are also a lot of fights where you are thinking "where's the challenge in this?". Right now Pacquiao having titles in 7 weight classes moves him up a bunch...I wonder if Floyd will let that stand? Could Floyd fight at 160? It would be nice to see.

If you look at Ray Robinson his record was filled with fighters that are ALL-TIME GREATS, same with Ray Leonard, and Roberto Duran. And Willie Pep may not have had the greatest opponents but to win as many fights as he did is amazing in itself. Hank Armstrong also deserves a mention.

They can increase their P4P status but they won't be #1 All-Time, that is made more difficult now on account of numerous belts and promoters and everything else....from a business standpoint boxing is more complicated to do these days

Thats why I think these two are as good as you are going to get in modern boxing. Tactical fight picking and bags of money involved.

Back in the day it was a matter of beating anyone and eveyone, just to prove you were number one. Thats why they fought so many tough fights and thats why people like Ali are considered number one ever, despite having losses on their record, it was because they fought many tough fights.

Now a days, a single loss can ruin your career.

Of course they are tops in the sport right now, but for ALL-TIME you really have to look at just how great those old fighters were.

I think Pernell Whitaker would of been top 10 of all time, had he not got cheated in decision's. I thought he only lost to Felix Trinidad, and that was when he was years past his prime while also having drug problems.

Well from what i've seen SRR would of beaten Manny Pacquiao, he was 5'11 fast as hell with great stamina, amazing chin, great footwork. The problem is i haven't seen a whole heap of his footage. And supposedly he was a god at Welterweight but theres no footage, only little clips. So we'll never truly know how good he was.

Last time I talk of Pac breathing the same air as Robinson earned me numerous insults.

I feel vindicated with this thread. Thanks to the starter.

You just can't compare era's because of various reasons, numerous titles, junior divisions, etc....if Hank Armstrong had junior divisions it's possible he could have matched Pacquiao's feat.

Fair play, even i used to laugh when you said these things

But now i hold my hands up and admit you were completely right. Pac is quite literally one devestating final performance over floyd from becoming the greatest fighter of all time!!

Pac mania at it's finest i guess.....what funny is just five minutes ago all this stuff was being said about cotto beating floyd. All this craziness is exactly why floyd came back in the first place. Easiest fights for the biggest money. And now the whole world is backing exactly the guy floyd wants them to back. Everyone has cried and cried about him fighting guys his size and now i guess that another claim thrown out the window. Before this will be the greatest fight in the universe for all time......after everyone will move on to someone new and all the excuses as to why floyd really won will begin.
