    Default whats this excercise called?

dunno what this excercise is but seen a guy doin it in the gym & saw michael bisping doing it on build up to UFC 10

you take a barbell & put weights on only one side then put the unweighted side into a room corner & lift the weighted side with your arms & shoulders

Is it done a bit like a shot putt where you kind of start at shoulder level then push it up over your head??

Yeah, don't think there is a name for it, it helps develop the explosiveness of throwing punches from low with the power coming from the thighs up , not too sure on the effectiveness of it but I have seen a few rugby league guys here do it too. if you can't find a corner to do it I would stick with alternate dumbell press from a standing position but making them explosive with a dip at the knees, a bit like if you were cheating on the last few reps.

I like that name, nice and short.

In thinking about it I reckon the benefits in MMA would be the power to drive someone up wards and back into the gage with one arm explosively.

Get onto the patent office D, you're onto a winner there.
