Default A fight for the fans :: Pacquiao vs Williams

    Manny Pacquiao vs Paul Williams.

This is a must see fight for me, and i'm sure many other fight fans out there. I just don't see anybody else in the division providing enough to challenge Pacquiao properly or blending to make a great fight. I say Williams would meet Pacquiao head on and would be a show of serious leather. Both sets of gloves would have to be some hardwearing shit on that night.

    Anyone else feel the same?

Williams is too big. But its slightly beside the point as its more likely that he fights Kid Thunder. Both Floyd and Manny are cherry picking at this point, neither guys are cowards but if you're a truly dangerous fighter you better bring a lot of money to the table or the fight isn't happening. Williams should just stay at 154-160, fight similar sized guys.

I would totally agree on you BUT there is one thing that makes me think that Pacman would smoke him off his shoes:

Williams has a very clear problem with southpaw, Martinez, Quintana are quite good proof of it. In that respect, I think that it would be a terrible mismatch.

    Williams is far too big.

    This fight should never happen.

Not even Mosley or Floyd would fight Williams at this point, so I don't see Pacman taking him on, plus it would be a total mismatch.

    So was Winky Wright

What Williams clearly struggles with are slick fighters with good movement. I think Pacquiao comes under that, but truthfully I think both Manny & Floyd would decision PW comfortably leading to him be branded overrated.

Anyway I'm not that bothered about seeing this fight. The only way that Williams is worth enough for one of the top 3 at 147 to fight is if he gets a win over Pavlik. Williams should focus on cleaning up at either 154 or 160. MW particularly is gonna get real hot over the next year or two.

I think Williams can not make 147 without being a zombie for a few days. Though none of the top welterweights seem to think so. Pac and Williams would be a fantastic fight but I think the big 3 welterweights are not going near that problem.

I would have big money on Pac defeating Williams quite comfortably.

It would be the stupidest looking fight in history.

I agree, Williams is susceptible to southpaws, . Just watch the first Quintana fight. And I can tell you that Williams' defence hasn't improved all that much . He would be hit by Pac all day . Of course it would be a close fight, cause with so many punches thrown I can see Pac getting hit too and more than in any of his last couple ifghts. But this one would end with Pacmans hand up, not sure if after 12 or earlier though

This is the fight I want to see too. Skill for Skill the match is quite even, but physical credentials are way too wide in favor of Paul. Williams is 6'2" and Pacman is only 5'6". If Pacman is 5'9" maybe this fight can happen.

Yea I don't really think of it as a great matchup at all. IF Williams were to have any chance in hell of winning, it would be purely and solely due to his being SO much bigger naturally. Pound for pound, Paul Williams can't hold a candle to him, which would put a huge damper on the fight for me. I don't think Williams is nearly as good as some people seem to.

Yeah but the difference with Winky is that Manny is a lot more aggressive and seems to pack much more power under his Reyes. Williams did struggle big time against Quintana and Martinez because have been very active against him and he couldn't cope with the big left coming over. For that reason, I think that Manny would slice through him in the later rounds.
