Thread: Hasegawa vs Montiel on 4/30, who you got?

There was some website that said the fight starts at 6 EDT on Friday morning, so it should be 3 in the morning for me on Friday because I live on the West coast.

Anyways I got Hasegawa by mid to late round stoppage.

Important fight for Hasegawa, he finally gets to put a big name on his record.

A stoppage would make a big statement. I reckon it'll be a tight-ish fight with Hasegawa a clear winner.

Hasegawa by decision around 116-112.

I’m going with Montiel on this. But it’s a very hesitant pick. Anybody familiar with me knows I’m very big on Hasegawa. But I don’t let favoritism cloud my judgement. And I don’t see Montiel being denied. Montiel knows the chances of him getting a points win if it’s close are pretty slim. So I think he’ll go for the knock out from the start. He’ll take his share of punches. Might even go down once. But I think he’ll get the stoppage late in what will be an outstanding fight. 9th or 10th round

You could well be right about the outcome, I think it will be an outstanding fight.

Whatever the outcome I also agree with everyone else that it has the makings for a good fight.

This fight is like the appetizer before the main course which would be the Mosley/Mayweather fight.

Hasegawa KO or late stoppage. If anybody has a good stream for this can they pm me please. I'm guessing it's about lunchtime Friday for the Brits. Apparently it's going to be on Sopcast somewhere, there seem to be a lot of free stream sites and boxing blogs claiming that they're going to have it.

Looked like Montiel sussed him in the 2nd, then Hasegawa came back with a good 3rd, was getting closer before punching, then Montiel started catching him again before the KO

It was a good fight for the 4 rounds it lasted.

If he didn't trap his left hand on the ropes he might have survived the round. Ref had no choice to step in though, probably a bit late if anything

Lot of head clashes early.

I knew Montiel would go for the KO from the start. Didn't think it would come this early. But damn. Time for Hasegawa to move up in weight
