    Default Hasegawa vs. Rocha!!

Haven't seen a thread about this one, sorry if I missed it.

    This Sunday 7.14.09

The MAN (IMO) at Bantam puts his WBC strap on the line again against California's Nestor Rocha. Rocha is a plodding fighter, really tough always coming forward. Hasegawa's hand speed and movement should be far too much.

Rocha has a good record at 21-1. But there's a huge gap between them. Hasegawa isn't a level above him. He's several levels above him. How Rocha can be ranked number by the WBC is beyound me. I would of rather Hasegawa face the number 2 contender Sasha Bakhtin. He already beat the number 1 contender Simpiwe Vetyeka. But it was a competive fight. A rematch with Vetyeka would of been better than this Rocha fight

Rocha looks pretty solid but slow. I suppose it'll be a decent result if Hasegawa can stop him.

I love watching Hasegawa fight so hope someone has a link. I think both he & Linares are heavily hit by fighting in Japan where they're skills aren't on show. Should Hasegawa win, would be great if they could set up a unification with Moreno, who I thought really struggled against Monshipour who is well past his prime. If not the winner of Darchinyan-Agbeko or Montiel would be good.

Rocha looks ok but he's kind of slow and just looking at his record it doesn't seem like he's got a whole lot of power, seems a bit made for Hasegawa.

Hasegawa should be too busy for him.Huge step up for Rocha. Off topic but I absolutly love the Japanese productions and blow by blow.Cannot understand a word but the emotion and feel. The anthem is awesome.

That was specifically why I picked the Malinga fight, you'd think they just cured cancer with the excitement from the announcers.

Very impressive from Hasegawa AGAIN. I know we expected him to win but don't think anyone thought a one round blowout was on the cards.

Tremendous righthand from the lightning straight left. Always thought he hit much harder than his record suggests (because of the blinding speed) - he's really showing it now.

Rocha is a solid fighter. I've seen clips of him too. But Hasegawa is so good. Rocha is nowhere near his level. I got Hasegawa by a wide UD on this one. Live stream link anyone?

For me, that's what a champion with a discernible advantage in talent should be doing. Take note, Wlad Klitschko (watch that set off an alarm for Lyle who steams in here for my disrespect of Wladimir)

Seriously though, this guy is something special, & in a way I wish he'd got the shot at Vic because he would've KO'd him early & then maybe a few more people would realize just how good he is

I have my doubts that Vic will fight at Bantam again.

If Hasegawa was from America, Mexico, PR or Britain he'd have TONS of fans on here (and predictably tons of people calling him a pussy, unfortunately ).

That's why i've been sticking him in my P4P list for the past year. That guy has obvious talent.

Maybe he'll take Vic's spot on the Saddo p4p list next time. Probably not though.
