Default Talking about negotiations instead of fights.

Why is this so common right now? I could see if this was just a lead up to a big fight for a month or so, but people are STILL talking about the negotiations for Mayweather/Pacquiao which has been/will be going on for a year or more.

Then we have the HW destined to never happen fights between Haye and Klit squared which is going on 3 YEARS!

In the meantime we have Cotto rebooting his career. Foreman and Lucas showing even in defeat that there are still fighters today that have hearts that rival anyone in history. We have the continuing Cuban invasion of super amateur talent in a very wide range of weight classes which will certainly elevate the general level of competition. That's paired with the '08 Olympic class are now getting to a point where they can really be tested. For me there is so much more than those first two fights which are really overwhelming to the level of being a completely pointless debate. I mean if those fights happen................great, if not that's fine with me I soured on these long term negotiations long ago. We have plenty of entertainment to keep us occupied in the interim and they won't cost $60 to watch.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I guess people like to argue about the same shit over and over again.

I think everyone agrees that Foreman showed a lot of heart and that Cotto looked decent at 154 (though I am not nearly as sold on him there as some others. When he takes a shot from a legitimate puncher at 154, then well see how much he has left, mentally and physically), so there's not a lot to argue about there I guess.

Arguing about the Pac - Mayweather/Haye - Klitschkos stuff is obscenely redundant though, I do not disagree with that.

speaking of which, Tua is scheduled to be taking on Barrett on July 17th, if true even though Barrett is a journeyman at this point, it's a step in the right direction if Tua is serious about giving it one more run for a title

Tua is one of those rare heavyweights that every just loves to talk about, even though he hasn't accomplished much in the last few years. As someone who never saw him when he was a legitimate contender, I find that fascinating for some reason.

Tua really needs to do what he did to Ruiz here to make some noise to get back in the spotlight. Is that fight going to be stateside? NZ? OZ?

it's supposed to happen in in Atlantic City NJ, so that's another step forward, i really have no clue if it's gonna be televised

Well I went to boxrec it's on the same night as Bradley/Abregu and Angulo/Alcine which is on HBO. Makes me think it'll be one of those $10 internet PPVs

Agreed, I havn't even checked what's going on with "that fight" because it's too much "he said, she said" bullshit with nobody actually really knowing the truth..and even if somebody does? I don't give a shit until pen hits paper for both fighters - Then we can start talking about it and have real debate instead of debate about shit that doesn't even exist..

If it happens it happens but I'm loving boxing in general right now..loving the domestic scene over here - also looking forward to fights stateside as ever.

There are way too many big fights for the hardcore fan to be interested in rather than resting our hopes on a few primadonna's like Haye, Floyd and Manny.

What will really make these big fights happen? If these babies see that we're starting to lose interest with their antics...which puts their bottom line at risk.

I have said similar things and gotten bashed to hell on here....Example like when there were constant threads about Hatton fights that never panned out or the non stop Pac/PBF threads and I mentioned about how many other top fighters were out there worth watching as the sport does not revolve around 4 or 5 guys....I was called a hater and told they were the biggest names so they are most important....
