Probably his second biggest win. Makes me a lil nervous for PAC.

That was a long, long time ago.
that's why i'm perplexed why most everyone thinks pacquiao will beat margarito easily! margarito is no joke. sure he got destroyed by mosley but shane is more powerful than pacquiao. besides, how many true pressure fighters has pacquiao fought in his career, aside from ricky hatton? conventional wisdom would think pacquiao with his superior handspeed and footwork beats margarito easily but sometimes fights don't come out like their supposed to! margarito is a danger to pacquiao not only because of his height and reach, but because he just keeps coming and coming at you. whether or not he had loaded gloves against cotto is debatable but cotto through everything at margarito but the kitchen sink and margarito kept coming. that's gotta be deflating and disheartening to a fighter. one thing about margarito, he's going to fall behind because he's very patient and doesn't panic. but at around the 5th or 6th round, he's going to come after pacquiao with alot of pressure and we'll be able to see how pacquiao handles that pressure. i think pacquiao should be a solid favorite to beat margarito by decision but i also think margarito is a very live underdog who, if pacquiao makes any mistakes, tony will make him pay dearly for them!

a martinez/margarito rematch would be much closer than most people think. first, both martinez and margarito are at their physical prime. sure martinez has improved alot but you can also say that about tony as well. martinez is the better boxer but margarito is going to be there in his face from the get go. i don't think martinez can seriously hurt margarito so that's going to weigh heavily against him because margarito is going to go straight in and pressure martinez like in their first fight. if there ever was a rematch, my allegiance would slightly go to martinez. i absolutely love this guy (no, not like that way) but i love his warrior heart. i also happen to like margarito as well because although he has many shortcomings, he usually comes out on top because of his relentless pressure and perserverance.
if Pavlik (a huge middleweight who was in his face) wasn't able to do much to Martinez, i doubt very much that Margarito (who never looked good above 147, and without his loaded gloves) would even trouble him, Martinez arguably won against Williams, the same Williams that beat the shit out of Margarito for all but one round
I think that's a fair post, but IMO the only reason Pacquiao - Margarito might be competitive is because of the massive size difference between the two. Pacquiao is a far superior fighter in nearly every aspect of the game and Margarito might be well on his way to shot at this point.
i for one don't think kelly pavlik is much of a pressure fighter, at least not on the level of margarito. not saying margarito would beat him cause he can't, but margarito for one, throws probably more than double the punches pavlik does. i think most of you are dangerously underestimating margarito in his fight with pacquiao. the fact that he's always fought against fleeter, faster opponents tells you something about his desire and toughness. if pacquiao gives him, margarito, too much respect, he'll be in trouble. the way to beat margarito is by outboxing him and not letting him get set, because once he gets going, he's very hard to stop, just ask miguel cotto!
just in, Margarito found new sponsors for the Pacquiao fight

jolz,
can you absolutely prove he had loaded gloves when he destroyed cotto?
he was not caught at that fight, but seeing the damage to cotto it can't be done with a normal glove. IMO the beating that cotto took from margo was worse than the one that Pacquiao gave him. oh, I foresee it. You will say Pacquiao is on roids. and I will bring your question back to you: can you absolutely prove that pacquiao is using ROIDS?

Can you prove he didn't?
When asked about the loaded gloves for Shane, Margarito responded that he didn't know his gloves were loaded and he said that responsibility goes to his trainer (which strangely he failed to fire for a long time after he was caught). Well, if he didn't know his trainer loaded his gloves for that fight, what makes you think he didn't know his trainer loaded his gloves for any other fight? The problem for Margarito is that now every single fight he has ever fought with that trainer is tarnished.
And the one time he was caught with loaded gloves and so was forced to fight fair...he was bodied by an underdog 38 year old that had LOST to Cotto within the previous last year. Coincidence? Personally, I think not. At the least it makes you wonder, doesn't it?
