Default Vivian Harris is officially done.

Anyone see his non effort tonight on telefutura ?

Some young 14-0 (7 KO) kid rocked him bad in the first round, Harris clinched and clinched and clinched some more, then quit in the corner.

Sad to see a former titlist go out on such a streak of KO losses like that.

I've never seen a man's punch resistance deteriorate as fast as Harriss's has.

Wasn't that long ago he was an undefeated young fighter with a world title and Emmanuel Steward in his corner wanting to fight Kostya Tzyu...

That was Jesse Vargas, one of the best prospects in boxing anywhere as far as I'm concerned. Most assumed it would take Vargas 4-8 rounds to put him away, so he made a mark with that. He's actually been with Roger Mayweather since he first put on some gloves.

Anyway on your thread topic, I agree he's done, but not because of this. Some boys I know from the UK went out to NY to turn pro & they train at Gleason's & they were telling me that were doing Harris over. There may be some exaggeration, but people I could hold my own with in sparring should not be having up a former world champ.

Jessie Vargas looked good, like a Panchito Bojado. But if he's one of the best in boxing I would think he'd have more KO's against bums than he does. Maybe he's just not a power puncher.

I like how you twisted it around to make it appear that you could beat up Harris. "I know a guy who knows a guy..."

Seriously tho, thats what I was thinking as well, that Harris must be getting battered and dropped in sparring these days. He just cannot take a shot at all anymore.

The man has been concussed and effectively ko'd at some point in his last 5 fights on name alone. Promotion should be ashamed.

when that bat-looking calos maussa smoked that Guyanesepiece of shisse, i knew that vivian phony was done. toasted. roasted. broasted. etc.... he went down like a house of cards, barfing at the same time, like a boogy-man unrelated entirely to jesse fergusn. vivian smoke-a-rama Harris is a phony. he wa supoposed 2 b the greatest at 140, coming up and making aname for himself, but he sure as scheisse bit the dust in his so-called "prime".

Geez Jesse Vargas has so much talent it's pretty scarey. He is still figuring out what kind of fighter he should be. I think he has the power to bully, the guise to stick and move and the reflexes of... well.. a 20 year old. Only thing is he doesn't have a tempo for fighting. He just sporadically fights in spurts. He will unload punches, and only stop to make sure he gets enough rounds in.

I think Vivian Harris got everyones hopes up on Witter making it to the top! That was the worst thing any promoter ever did.

He was officialy done a few fights ago. I'd say it was starting to show when he got dropped twice by Narvaez. Even though he came back to win, his punch resistance had to be called into question.

Who names their son Vivian? His jello chin is probably a direct result of getting daily sh1t kicking's in the school yard.

Yeah that was a tough fight to watch. After round one, poor guy was trying to sit before they even put the seat in the ring. :/

I didn't mean it like that, I just think that I (a very unnoteworthy amateur) should not be able to hang with guys who can 'have up' Vivian Harris, even if they've obviously since gone pro/probably recklessly exaggerating etc. If he's not dominating those guys, he should not be getting in the ring with top prospects.

On Vargas, I've seen him many times & been very impressed. He often seems to look to take in rounds rather than blaze people out of there. Plus his opp for a 15 bouter is actually pretty good, some of the better journeymen in there. Now I've said this I bet he gets blazed out in a minute in his next fight

Harris should really retire. He seems to have next to no resistance whatsoever. I would be curious to see how he has been looking in sparring for these recent fights because he sure hasn't been looking good in the ring.

The hell it hasn't. It's been over 11 years since he was undefeated

I suppose you saw his first loss and have followed his career since he first turned pro huh ?

You know what I meant. Wasn't that long ago since he had a title and Emmanuel in his corner and was on his way up.
