This is why I make my picks after the weigh-in especially when it's for a HW bout. It's obvious who has been putting in real work and who's been spending too much time at a restaurant.
I like Barrett in this fight but only thing that bothers me is that the fight is in NZ.. Barrett could do enough to win but has a high chance of getting robbed so this is a real gamble here.
yup
weighs in FATreally
IS THAT ANY FUCKING SURPRISE TO ANYONE WITH AN OUNCE OF GREY MATTER THEN? The fat fuckin pork-eatin Samoan or Tongan or whatever Polynesian fat fuck he is EATS PORK FUCKING ROAST PIGLET BARBECUES AT MIDNIGHT WITH PINEAPPLE SAUCE AND SWEET AND SOUR ASS-LICK. Why is it a goddam surpise that the 40-something year old FAT FUCK weighs in overweight?
IT's not about being surprised but the least he could have done was come in at the same weight he did last time which was 237.. NObody expects Tua, at this stage, to come in tip top shape but the least he could have done was not come in 7lbs heavier for a rematch.. IT's not a good sign either way..
My initial pick was Tua but i changed my mind after what i saw at the weigh-in...
Im not saying that Weigh-in is end all but in certain bouts such as this one, it really tells alot about the two fighters..
its a surprise because in an interview leading up to the fight tua revealed that he is broke and homeless, living out of his gym with his wife and daughter. that winning the fight would ensure that they could buy a house to live in and live in a respectable manner.
so i would have expected him to train a little harder... especially since he is litterally living in his gym right now.
Take the fork out of his hand and stick it in him.
Rematching Barrett...kinda says all you need to know![]()
He was lucky to get a draw first time round. Why come in so heavy?...
Cuz his heart isn't fully into boxing anymore. Tua has been done long ago. He's now just fighting for a paycheck and he's probably counting on a hometown gift..
222 is a good fighting weight for Barrett and it looks like he's trained his ass off.. I know that he got into a new conditioning program and it really shows..
Barrett is also highly motivated because he feels left out of the percentage that's going to be split between Sky and Tua..
He's ready for this..
Monte is one of the few HWs who still comes in inshape.
The Bojardo of the heavyweights.
