Thread: Mike Alvarado

Just saw the Alvarado-Preiscott fight, undercard for the PAC-JMM 3 fight. Damn I'm impressed by this kid's grit and ability to adjust. Anybody a fan of him here?

Definitely enjoy his fights but he struggles against the top guys around the weight imo

He's all action, a made for TV kind of fighter. I'd love to see him against Maidana for one, that would be a war. Agreed with Galaxy in general though, hopefully he gets matched well on a big card soon. I couldn't see him giving Khan much trouble, for instance. I thought he was likely to get a Marquez fight after being on that undercard, that fight would've been fun while it lasted.

I like this dude. Fun calamity and honest hard driven style. He has improved tempo a bit and Prescott battle was a huge well earned springboard but do think a top guy counter punching in between his attack rules his day badly.

Of the three I think style wise Matthysee would paint a portrait on him. I like Soto as a fighter but he looks flat the highter-longer he goes and think it will show vs Matthysse. Maidana is a hard one to gauge personally, it screams risk-reward a bit (?) at this stage for a dude that was rumored to be in the JMM sweepstakes.
