Well first off its complete utter bullshit to point out Manny's ppv numbers as a reason not to fight him. Its beyond explanation its so ridiculous. The levels of assinitity (I needed a made up word) for such a claim are off the charts. With the exception of Hatton and Oscar none of Floyds opponents have done close to 1 million ppv buys. Just another reason ppv is plastic. Risk and reward has completely vanished from the land scape. This is where Floyd does more to hurt boxing then anyone has before him regardless of how good he is. He's to big. Yes this is prize fighting but the prize used to be because of the risk or at least part of it was. Manny is still the second best fighter in Floyds comfort zone. Doesn't that mean anything anymore? What sport is this?

Arum was with Floyd for ten years. When the Oscar fight was made Floyd wanted 20 million and Bob said no. Floyd said fk-you and bought out his contract for 750 grand and started promoting himself. He went on to make 30 million against Oscar. Now because of that, Floyd figures he was shorted in previous fights. Fair enough but we can go back as far as guys like Tex Rickard right through to King for the same types of acts committed by promoters and yet in the end save the colour barrier days, the best fought the best. Legacy won out in the end. Today those who want to pursue legacy cant get the fights because they wont sell PPV or are to dangerous Its fking pathetic. Its like a different sport. And I'm not trying to sound arrogant here but for those of you who have grown up with nothing else but this flavour era you will never understand and I kind of feel sorry for you. Its not even about boxing anymore. The sports been TMZ'd, highjacked if you will. If Floyd wanted to get back at Arum he'd demand a 70/30 split along with the overwhelming majority of all other revenue and then beat up his main tit. Get that phantom money back from Bob and belittle his main squeeze no doubt sending him into retirement in the process. Now that's payback.

Floyd did not want to fight Canelo, but after the dismal numbers Showtime (not Floyd said they were making the Canelo fight). Either Floyd, knowing he can't break any records without another big name as the draw, is trying to get as much help as possible or maybe this time if Floyd underperforms, Shiwtime will force him to fight Manny. And we all know that Floyd is doing everything possible to avoid that fight

I wasn't using Pac's numbers to say Floyd shouldn't fight him, I'm using them to indicate that Pac is no longer in Floyd's league in terms of prestige and generating money; Pac and Arum need Floyd, not vice versa.

You bring up guys like Tex Rickard and Don King... yeah, they fucked over fighters too, but when in history has a boxer had the luxury of actually sticking it to a promoter? Arum has admitted he fucked Floyd over, he's trashed-talked Floyd ever since he left him. The difference between Floyd and nearly every other fighter in the history of boxing is that he has the power to say "fuck you, I don't need you, I'm not putting a cent in your pocket." Guys didnt have the pull that Floyd does (especially when the mob ran boxing), so they had to bend over and take it in the ass.

IDGAF what business you're in: if you have the power to call the shots, you're going to call the shots. To expect someone to relinquish that power is unrealistic. If Bill Gates didn't want to do business with someone, he didn't do business with them. He didn't need to.

Any fighter who says he fights for the fans is either lying or a goddamn idiot. The point of boxing is to make as much money as you can, while you can, because the fans aren't going to be around when you retire, which is why we see so many past greats broke and/or brain damaged after they retire. There's no pension for boxers. What good was the fan's respect for Joe Frazier when he was a broke middle aged man living in a small room above a boxing gym.

Back in 2010, Floyd, GBP, Pac, and Arum had a responsibility to get this fight made. There was a divide among boxing fans who was the true #1 p4p, and both guys were held in the same regard.

There's no more reason to make that fight at this juncture. What has Pac done to get back in the Mayweather Sweepstakes? Beat a hand-picked, undersized patsy who was coming off a loss? Who gives a fuck?

And I know people will say "well what has Khan done", and I 100% agree, I think that's a bullshit fight too.

That's not the reason Floyd feels ripped off by Arum. Arum has admitted publicly to owing Floyd money and to deliberately withholding the payment of that money. He's been quite brazen about it.

If Floyd were to make a 70/30 purse split with Pacquiao then it would only be Pacquiao getting screwed over. Arum would still make all the money and rip Manny off just like he rips all his fighters off. Floyd doesn't benefit from Manny being ripped off.

Payback for Floyd would be to have Manny ditch Arum to make the fight. That way he and Manny get all the money. Arum gets no money and Arum loses his top fighter.

Hmmmm well in that case then he's screwing Manny financially by not fighting him. His present state of affairs regarding cash is pretty well documented be it over generosity or foolishness. I just don't find the Arum excuse palatable anymore or things like ppv numbers. Its simply not relevant. I'd like to see these reports about Arum admitting to owing Floyd all this money. Don King probably owes a lot more to a lot more fighters. Same with the comments about Manny having to fight somebody to get in line. Its outrageous. I mean why that entire circus over testing if he never had the intent? Floyds super fans will say it was some kind of plan or ploy. There is a large portion of Floyd fans that cant or refuse to look at anything regarding Floyd objectively.

Floyd doesn't owe Pacquioa anything so he's not screwing him over by not fighting him.
He is however encouraging him to leave Arum and in doing so, he's trying to help him make more money. Pacquioa would make more money because he wouldn't have Arum ripping him off AND Floyd would agree to fight him so he'd make ALOT of MONEY.

Here's the link to an article where Arum admits to owing Floyd money and not intending to pay it:

So we don't get to see the fight because Arum owes Floyd money?

Finish fighting, Floyd. Arum owes you money and you want to get paid? Sue the shit out of him. Use a few of your millions to hire some good lawyers and sue Arum. Meanwhile, make your mega-millions and give fans what they want..... boxing.

Cant believe that there is no higher type of authority in the boxing world than both these promotors that can get this sorted and elimate all of this..pathetic.

I've read that Pacquioa gets 27% of his purse. The rest is kept by Arum.

What Floyd is doing is exposing the boxing promoter's absolute corruption and by doing so he may help to shift the balance of power from the promoter/manager to the fighter.

The fighter ends up with brain damage and suffers the broken bones, suffers thru the training, has the skill/heart. Why should the fighter only make 27%.

It's sad because a bunch of you claim to be fans of boxing but by complaining about not getting this ONE fight you're showing that you don't respect the fighters, their families or the sport.

You might think Floyd is a spoiled brat, but that doesn't mean that his actions aren't noble and that his efforts to change a sport aren't valid. If you put your idiotic hating aside you'll see Floyd has been championing anti doping, anti promoter/manager corruption and has ultimately been pro fighter.

Look this is nuts. It’s like trying to justify Leonard/Duran 1 not happening because Leonard had a hard on for Ray Arcel. Fact of the matter is Floyd could break the ice to benefit all fans with a fight. This impasse is only going to get worse between the rival promoters. Yahoo sports did a story recently on the 25 most powerful people in boxing.
Anybody want to guess where Floyd sits? Y! SPORTS

That’s right folks, right behind Haymon. Now I’m not sure why Lampley is on there as no serious fan can take him serious and the list is a tad geocentric but Floyds rank is still valid. I don’t think he gets away with this if it wasn’t.

Again... is it Floyd's job to complain because Pac only keeps 27% of the purse and Arum gets the rest? No. That's between Pac and Arum. So now we're to believe that Floyd will hold out on fights because he's on this noble crusade against promoter corruption? C'mon. How is wanting to see the best fights available "not having respect for the fighters, families, etc, etc"? It's a pretty far reach, if you ask me. Boxing is a lot more simple when fighters stick to the business at hand..... fighting. Getting a raw deal from "X" or "Y" promoter? Can him... sue him... get rid of him. Others have done it. I'll glad give Floyd credit for a lot of things. Boxing's saviour is not one of them.

Ok. You're ok with a fighter refusing the best fight available because he can't stand the other guy's promoter. I'm not. Boxing is supposed to be a sport first. A business second. All we need are a few more Floyds to make sure the sport starts grinding to a complete halt.

Are you guys so stupid that you can't understand what I just wrote? You both seem to think you addressed and rebutted my previous posts but you clearly didn't understand what I was saying.

Floyd isn't on a crusade to fix boxing but his actions while initially intended to benefit him have farther reaching consequences that benefit fighters in the long term. Fewer steroids and more stringent testing will help ensure fighters are safer in the ring. It helps all fighters in the long run. Fighters being in control of their careers instead of having their careers dictated by managers who are corrupt and don't care for the fighters health, welfare, families etc...and who rob them of their purses... That benefits all fighters.

Floyd isn't worried about how much money Pacquioa is getting but he does want people to know that Manny is getting screwed by Arum. 27% is a terrible percentage to be getting for risking your life 3-4 times a year.

All you guys can think about is why YOU don't get to see Manny and Floyd fight. BOO HOO!
