    Default Alvarado v Marquez

Any one getting psyched for this fight? I got two bags of beef jerky, my traditional boxing food, and I have cleared my empty schedule.

I would love to see mile high Mike pull it off, I think he has a decent shot at an aging Marquez.

I will be at this fight and I can't wait really. This week is going by so fuckin slow but 2 more days!!

Im feeling great these days man. Business is running smooth, hoes wont stop jocking, but most of all, Im going to see my favorite fighter from ringside..

Only if Gamboa-Garcia was a part of this card as planned, it would have been perfect but it's ok..

If you don't mind me asking, how much were the tickets. GGG and Mac cost me 90

$1000 for a pair.. It wasnt cheap but it's a much better deal compared to other venues like MGM..

I hope the Forum becomes a regular for Boxing events..

i think that it will be a good fight. JMM should win this one pretty easily by picking his shots. JMM will obviously get knocked down sometime in the fight like always so that will be expected. although JMM is getting old, he is fighting somebody who isnt that great. alvarado has a good punch and a good chin, but considering his last few fights, his chin might be a little less solid than usual. i think that JMM KO's him later in the fight.

I really dont see alvarado as an elite fighter.. his power and his chin are legit but he doesnt have the defense and the offensive technique to beat a master technician like Marquez..

Anyone can look like a cute boxer against one dimensional bums like Rios and Prov but Marquez is leagues above those guys, something alvarado has never seen..

Alvarado used to be a wrestler and got a late start in boxing, therefore, boxing is second nature to him.. he has to think before making a move rather than moving instinctively.. that's the difference between natural fighters and late starters...

He got out ouboxed by Precott FFS until he pulled out a hell mary at the end..

As long as father time doesnt catch up to marquez, he's going to dissect alvarado and do a number on him..

1)Finito-you are using the term 2nd nature wrong. It means as close to nature as possible, as in when something comes very naturally to a person it's second nature.

2)I don't get excited about matches where you know one guy should win unless he has deteriorated enough to level the playing field.

Right, right, i'm tripping.. What I meant to say is that boxing does NOT come as second nature to alvarado..

    He's not a natural fighter..

Im excited for this fight for the same reason im excited about Cotto-Martinez..

Don't see how Alvarado wins, even if an oldish, slightly depleted Marquez shows up it's still going to be difficult.
It's a boxing match so anything can happen and that's the bait, the jig, the lure of boxing.

Marquez should be doing what he does best, countering Alvarado on his way in but if he ducks once in a while, things change.

I think JMM should win this fight and it has been deliberately chosen as a set up for a rematch with Manny Pac.

I hear what you are saying and it makes sense but I just love Mile High Mike, always been a fan win or lose. I'm going to stick with my pick for him to win but it is with my heart, not my head. This would allow him to move up a level too with I would love to see him reach. I guess we all have boxers we feel that way about.

Marquez has too much experience, too much ring craft and is all around just better than Alvarado! I like Alvarado , but Marquez is a different kettle of fish. Guess we will see pacquiao-Marquez 5

Marquez made such a big deal that he would never fight Pac again as he cherished the moment for himself and Mexico. Money changes everything.

PAC has the 5th title now though...that's marquez' motivation. He will fight PAC again I can bet my house on that
