Don't have a nutritionist. Do have a diet based on my body size, conditioning and goals. Basically a healthy well rounded guide to eating for a boxer. Mixture of complex carbs, protein, all the food groups in proper amounts and basically no crap food. Supplements for recovery.
Would be interested in seeing a nutritionist also just to know if I am doing it right tho. Also would like to find out what why body fat is.
No idea how much it costs or much about them, so not really much help to you. just curious also.

Anyway, seriously, I think it would be a good idea for you to see a nutritionist.. Try to find one that is a good talker and can explain things to you well and allows a lot of 'healthy' discussion. :)
Some may just want to be all business, and set out a plan for you based on your bare minimum input...
Working out a good diet that is flexible and you are able to stick to, you may not even need to see them that often.. Just every now and then to monitor your progress and fine tune things... It certainly can't do any harm, and would help you commit to a good diet..
Just remember that it has to allow some flexibility, and you have to feel confident you can stick to it, or you'll be wasting your money seeing them... So let them know exactly what you want and what you feel your capable of in regards to how strict you'll stick to a diet.. If you want a day or 2 off or a junkfood meal on Sunday, let them know and they'll advise good choices and maybe fine tune other days of the week to make up for it..

To be honest for what you would pay to go to one you could quite easily do for yourself there is that much info for you on the net. Theres also Calorie counters, nutritional needs of fighters, what each nutrient does for your body, etc.Quote:

It's all pretty basic stuff when you break it down.
Whole grains for your carbs eat more earlier in the day and decrease
each feeding.
Eat protein each feeding, but don't mix protein types in the same meal.
(i.e. don't eat soy and whey at the same time, it confuses your body).
Eat lean meats only, white chicken, salmon, tuna turkey are all great.
Eat lots of veggies have a snack of a salad at least once a day (low cal, low-fat dressing)
Have a snack of nuts and berries everyday (unsalted and no sugar added)
Eat a small amount of fruit everyday, skip eating protein with it as the acids will break down the protein.
Eat small portions often 5-6 times a day you should be eating.
I have type 2 diabetes so I have seen a nutritionist regarding my diet and weight loss. The way I see it, if you don't follow what they tell you you might as well throw your money in the trash. I know that sounds like a pretty dumb statement, but I know plenty of people who go to nutritionists and then don't follow one single thing that's recommended.
