yesssssss big word, go college education!! "HIGH FIVE, WHY NOT? IS NIIIICE!" ;D ;)
I had the same problem till about a year after I graduated from high school. all I did was start running, and then gradually worked the junk out of my diet. then I started weight training along with my running, gradually working up and up in intensity. when I shipped off for college, I started boxing!
Ive lost nearly 70 pounds now.
you say you dont eat like an idiot, so I wont insult your intelligence on diet. if you know what to eat, then just run run run!
Re: genetics and fat loss??
One thing though.
Dont get hung up on your genetics. Genes do play a part in everything, but not a big part. People make easy excuses with genes, but the truth is, you train hard you can achieve anything.
A very wise man once said (god cant remember his name for the life of me)
"Its funny, the more i seem to train, the better my genes seem to get"
Basically, train hard and dont get hung up on genes and youll go far.
Re: genetics and fat loss??
Its an envirement thing, thats the problem, not genes thougth they play a major part in every thing we do althougth we are not aware. Its are forfathers envioroment that makes us what we are geneticly and emotionly. Ive seen people under hypnosis taken back to Eygptian times 4,000 years ago, and as the proffesser said its not them its the forfathers. Genetic memory is amazing, but at the end of the day you are what you eat. Thats why Im a fat cunt
Re: genetics and fat loss??
thanks, but i dont think i am an endomorph, because now i have looked up the definition, it says someone generally assosiated with over weight, i am not overweight, i just have a small layer of fat which wont go. I think i am more of one of those musclier solid people. I asked someone how they would explain me and they said bullish. But they said it was different because i am not fat, i just have a smallish amount of fat and this is apparantly to do with my genetics and eventually it will go when i reach a certain stage in maturity. I am blatantly going to be a heavyweight boxer when i am older lol, but... not when i am 16! I believe that i can lose this fat and just have the muscle undernearth but i need to know a way to do that. Can anyone give me tips, running is one you say
Re: genetics and fat loss??
dammit I knew I shoulda went to a private school ;D
you can do stuff like swimming too, but in my opinion running is by far the best way to get rid of fat.
there's a really good article under Jamoie's thread at the top of this section of the forums on getting lean/reducing body fat percentage, give that a read, its got some good advice

So you are overweight.....just slightly ::**
Sprints are an excellent way to get rid of fat but maintaing muscle.
Sprint for 20 seconds, rest, repeat.
Eat clean, train hard and good things will happen.

Re: genetics and fat loss??
You're a mesomorph - highlighted even more by the fact that you take part in sport voluntarily. You have an athletic build. So get working.
Find an aerobic activity you can sustain for 2 hours. Once the fat starts coming off shorten the time and increase the intensity. You'll be lean and mean in no time. :)
Re: genetics and fat loss??
a couple good points in here.
people tend to do slower, longer cardio. THey fail to see results and wonder why.
The key is intensity. 100% intensity...as hard as you can possibly go for shorter durations is far better than anything else. In fact, 1 100m sprint per day is probably better than a moderate 2mile jog.
These go by a couple names... Tabata intervals and Phil Campbell calls them Sprint 8's. Check them out. Both advocate "sprinting" (100m dash, 10second sprint on a bike, etc) as opposed to long, moderate exercise. sprinting is defined as anything that requires 100% exertion (for about 10seconds) that leaves you breathless, bent over gasping for air.
Re: genetics and fat loss??
If your fat with no muscle mass then building fast twitch fibres to increase the amount of energy your body will use is key. Although,if you have muscle mass working it aerobically initially will increase muscular oxygen uptake efficiency before doing the fast short stuff will produce better results.
A thing called epoc (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) accounts for the loss of weight following fast exercise but if the basic aerobic system isn't working efficiently you won't burn energy (fat) as well as you could. :)
Re: genetics and fat loss??
Re: genetics and fat loss??
Question for MD:
How does epoc relate to the production of HGH? I read that anaerobis exercise is the best way to produce HGH which leads to increased beta oxidation of fatty acids.
Re: genetics and fat loss??
thanks btw, i would give cc but i dont know how ???
Re: genetics and fat loss??
can you explain epoc in more detial p[lease
