I'll be the 1st to admit a strong disliking for the Contender. But like Magic said, that Contender finale was awesome, for die hard fight fans and casual observers. I was glad Bika won, but that b.s. punching when Jaidon was down should have had repercussions, like a point taken away at the least. He didn't even get a warning from what I saw. Of the "new" fans how many will research the sports history and educate themselves on the ins and outs of boxing? Very few, I'd say.
I think it's up to us as second or thrid generation fans to get more people to watch. Groom our younger family members to appreciate what boxing is all about. Make sure our children understand why boxing is fundmental.
