some people would now say wwitter is the man to beat at 140 now and Hatton needs to take this guy on.. i think that hatton is worried about taking this fight next as he knows another loss now and it would be very hard to re-build his carrer.. He would be as good as finished in my book..
How can Hatton be ducking Witter? fuck me, hes just moved up to fight the pound for pound champion and just because he wont fight Junior hes ducking him... Its just plain shit really. Hes not scared of anybody and would fight anybody. Hatton will most likely fight him when the time is right and at this momment I think Ricky does not feel Witter offers enough to fight him.
He has no name in America, unlike PM. He only has a WBC belt and for Hatton nows its not all about belts, its about making the money. I dont think a Junior Witter fight will get him the amount he is after, and I do admit Hatton does underestimate his abillities a bit. But still it doesnt mean shit because Witter is a nobody except for in Britain.
This is why Ingle is trying to hype him up by saying he would knock mayweather out, when realistically it just wouldnt happen.
If witter can get a win against Pm and get another belt I believe 2 belts and more of a name would tempt Hatton enough.

He wants career defineing fights, and until the 140 devision sorts itself out a bit he cant do much else in terms of fights for his legacy. He isnt worried about fighting anybody at 140 mark my words.
Honestly, Hatton has a bit of a dilemma on his hands. He's too small to fight with any of the other elite welterweights and with his "Ricky Fatton" lifestyle he WON'T be able to make 140 in top condition that much longer and he'll start becoming weight drained more often. If I were him, I'd take the money with a huge ODLH fight in the UK in which whether he wins or loses, he'll still be considered the top guy at 140. And then break the bank again with Junior Witter who would probably have one more belt by then. Ricky's drinking and eating WILL catch up to him, it's just a question of when. I read somewhere that his team was going to have him fight five times in 2008, that's probably the smartest idea they've had for Ricky yet because fighting five times will allow him to stay in somewhat decent shape all year instead of blowing up a lot and then having to lose a ton of weight.
