Favourite and Least Favourite American fighters and why....
As Bilbo did a UK one I felt it was necessary to do a US one ;)
My Favs:
Kelly Pavlik:
Exciting and brings light back to the MW divsion, KO'd Jermain Taylor, has awesome power, doesn't bullshit.
Timothy Bradley:
For shutting up and owning Junior Witter, thanks :D
Least Favs.
Floyd Mayweather:
KO'd Ricky Hatton, Blatantly ducking Miguel Cotto, loud mouth bullshitter who is only after money and not securing a legacy.
Paulie Malignaggi:
Thinks boxing is a fashion game with his stupid haircuts. Talks shit, a loudmouth and cocky. Barely beat Ngoudjo and N'Dou and yet thinks he's #1 at 140.
Sergio Mora:
What a cock, I hope Forrest knocks him the fuck out, got a gift against Manfredo in their 2nd fight, bums SRL, the guy loves himself and yet he's just a "Contender" :lolhaha:
Re: Favourite and Least Favourite American fighters and why....
Thing is about Paulie, he may have many gay things about him but he still gets in that ring and fights like the rest of them , particulary in the Cotto fight.
Thats why i ignore all that stuff and put it down to attempted showmanship, I like the guy.
Re: Favourite and Least Favourite American fighters and why....
Fav American fighter has to be Oscar Dela Hoya. He just all round rules.
Love the way he fights the way he acts and beleive everyword that comes out of his mouth.
Most dis-liked is B-Hop, Wich is strange because before the Calzaghe fight i actually really liked him, but the build up and the fight itself really turned me against him. Got me up for the fight more wich i suppose was the desired effect...And like he gives a fuck I dont like him.
Re: Favourite and Least Favourite American fighters and why....
I suppose that I had better pick CURRENT fighters in case some random pedant calls me out (;))
Least favourite has to be Bernard Hopkins - I must say that I have always thought he's a bit of a survivalist scuffler who was lucky there were no good middleweights around when he was the titlist, plus he has the grace and charm of a valentine card from Saddam Hussein.
Favourite at the moment is Floyd Mayweather, because I do think he is going to be an all-time great (yet, oddly, he too has the grace and charm of a valentine card from Saddam Hussein)
Pavlik is fun to watch, but I nned to see a bit more of him before I decide whether he is too one-dimensional (or if that one-dimension is not enough!)
De la Hoya - a class act, fought everyone, a real live fighter with a brain. I like him.
I enjoyed watching Juan Diaz, but his lack of a big punch caought up with him .... always in good fights though.
I'm interested to see what happens to Andre Berto as well, once he gets in the ring with a decent and dangerous opponent (hopefully this year or early 2009?)
Isn't it amazing how few Americans are up there in the sport these days??
Re: Favourite and Least Favourite American fighters and why....
De La Hoya, Holyfield all right someone a little younger I like well guess who Chazz Witherspoon.
Malignaggi is a retard,Mayweather a little bit worse,I am starting not to like Haye also he talks way too much shit lately.

;D
Re: Favourite and Least Favourite American fighters and why....
Least favorite:
Tye Fields; a crime to even think he is a real fighter. Just a big, dumb Baby Huey who fights like he graduated from the Special Olympics with honors.
Sergio Mora; funny I used to like this kat, but where is he at? What is he doing? Not much really. And I hate those temper tantrums and running out of the ring.
Peter Manfredo; nuff' said.
Favorite:
Kelly Pavlik; just get an old school feeling watching him. One of those guys who has quite a few flaws, but comes to fight, has a ton of heart and just works every second of every round.
Juan Diaz; a Texas boy like myself who I love to watch fight. Was just about crushed when he lost to Campbell, but look forward to seeing how he comes back. Unbelievable work rate and really just wears people down through attrition and punch output.
The Peterson brothers; got alot of potential, though that bird chirping that one of them does{I always forget which one it is} annoys me to no end. Very solid fighters IMO.
James Kirkland; this kid comes to put a hurt on people. I like what I've seen so far; and love Anne Wolfe being in his corner.

Kelly Pavlik, he's just exciting to watch.
Nate Campbell, his recent trash talk on the system and what he has done in the ring has made me a fan.
Least favorites
Bernard Hopkins, just a dirty fighter, I can appreciate what he has done in the ring, but I can't stand how dirty of a fighter he is.
Cory Spinks, talks trash like he' s king kong but he ends up like tinkerbell.
Re: Favourite and Least Favourite American fighters and why....
Favourites:
Shane Mosley - all round great bloke

ODLH - Guy is an absoloute legend
Andre Berto - the future dominance of world boxing

Favorites
Evander Holyfield- My alltime favorite fighter, heart, guts, warrior and inspiration
Jeff Lacy- been a fan from the get go, great heart, chin and will, exciting all action fighter and a charasmatic all around good ambassador for the sport
Floyd Mayweather- The crem dela crem, this generations best fighter, 1st ballot hall of famer and destined to be mentioned with the likes of Robinson, Ali, Pep and Greb
Roy Jones Jr- fuk the haters he still has plenty in the tank, has reinvented his style and defense as well as restoring lost confidence, as much as I like Calzaghe, Jones will defeat him if they fight
Shane Mosely-Great fighter, great guy dazzleing in every sense of the word
James Toney- Throw back one of the best fighters of the last 20 years multi division champion and one of the tougest bastards to lace them up
Kelly Pavlik-epitomises everything you want out of an explosive fighter
Glen Johnson- hardnosed throw back and all around bad ass fighter who unfortunately gotten screwed to many times
Winky Wright- Great defense and a old school fighter
Andre Berto- been following him for over a year and believe he is the heir apparent in 2 years time when Floyd hangs them up, sensational offense and punch selection with a chin.... Needs to improve his defense or will be exposed quick
Least
Zab Judah- Piece of dried up dogshit
Hopkins- Cheater and an ahole
Malignaggi :homo2:
Allan Green- Loud mouthed idiot who layed an egg on the mainstage and got owned by Miranda
Thats all I can think of for now

You have a pretty good point there. Hair extensions or no hair extensions I would not want to fight him in a boxing ring.
Here is my list for what it is worth.
Favorites.
Miguel Cotto- I don't think there has been a fighter in the welterweight division since Tommy Hearns that brings that much of an aura of genuine excitement. I say that in the terms of knockouts. It is like everyone waits on the edge of their seats for the stoppage.
Vernon Forrest- I wish he had never had to take those two years off for the shoulder injury. Vernon would have been mentioned with the likes of Felix Trinidad, Shane Mosley and Oscar De La Hoya.
Roy Jones- I know he is nowhere near the Roy Jones of old but in his day the man was flawless. not in a technically sound way but in a style no one but he could be successful at. Today I like him as an announcer and the fact he has become honest about things. Like the fact he did not go to the UK and fight Joe Calzaghe purposely.
Least Favorite.
Bernard Hopkins- Great fighter but always complaining about the respect he supposedly does not get and how great he is. If maybe he put on an exciting bout now and again he would avoid the flack.
Floyd Mayweather JR- He is great in the ring but never shuts up outside of it.
Re: Favourite and Least Favourite American fighters and why....
Fave
Hopkins-overcame adversity,went from a slugger to a technician
Ann Wolfe-One punch can make you say nighty night
Valerie Mahfood-Pit bull of a fighter, and a very nice person to boot
Least
Holyfield-when is a head but not a head but, when Evander throws it
Lalia Ali-retired rather then face Wolfe
Jeremy Bates-Could have done so much more if he'd have actually trained

Amazing that you love Hopkins but you Hate on Holyfield... Hopkins cheats 90% of a fight:confused:
