Thing is about Paulie, he may have many gay things about him but he still gets in that ring and fights like the rest of them , particulary in the Cotto fight.

Thats why i ignore all that stuff and put it down to attempted showmanship, I like the guy.

Fav American fighter has to be Oscar Dela Hoya. He just all round rules.
Love the way he fights the way he acts and beleive everyword that comes out of his mouth.

Most dis-liked is B-Hop, Wich is strange because before the Calzaghe fight i actually really liked him, but the build up and the fight itself really turned me against him. Got me up for the fight more wich i suppose was the desired effect...And like he gives a fuck I dont like him.

I suppose that I had better pick CURRENT fighters in case some random pedant calls me out ()

Least favourite has to be Bernard Hopkins - I must say that I have always thought he's a bit of a survivalist scuffler who was lucky there were no good middleweights around when he was the titlist, plus he has the grace and charm of a valentine card from Saddam Hussein.

Favourite at the moment is Floyd Mayweather, because I do think he is going to be an all-time great (yet, oddly, he too has the grace and charm of a valentine card from Saddam Hussein)

Pavlik is fun to watch, but I nned to see a bit more of him before I decide whether he is too one-dimensional (or if that one-dimension is not enough!)

De la Hoya - a class act, fought everyone, a real live fighter with a brain. I like him.

I enjoyed watching Juan Diaz, but his lack of a big punch caought up with him .... always in good fights though.

I'm interested to see what happens to Andre Berto as well, once he gets in the ring with a decent and dangerous opponent (hopefully this year or early 2009?)

Isn't it amazing how few Americans are up there in the sport these days??

    Least favorite:

Tye Fields; a crime to even think he is a real fighter. Just a big, dumb Baby Huey who fights like he graduated from the Special Olympics with honors.

Sergio Mora; funny I used to like this kat, but where is he at? What is he doing? Not much really. And I hate those temper tantrums and running out of the ring.

    Peter Manfredo; nuff' said.

    Favorite:

Kelly Pavlik; just get an old school feeling watching him. One of those guys who has quite a few flaws, but comes to fight, has a ton of heart and just works every second of every round.

Juan Diaz; a Texas boy like myself who I love to watch fight. Was just about crushed when he lost to Campbell, but look forward to seeing how he comes back. Unbelievable work rate and really just wears people down through attrition and punch output.

The Peterson brothers; got alot of potential, though that bird chirping that one of them does{I always forget which one it is} annoys me to no end. Very solid fighters IMO.

James Kirkland; this kid comes to put a hurt on people. I like what I've seen so far; and love Anne Wolfe being in his corner.

Kelly Pavlik, he's just exciting to watch.

Nate Campbell, his recent trash talk on the system and what he has done in the ring has made me a fan.

    Least favorites

Bernard Hopkins, just a dirty fighter, I can appreciate what he has done in the ring, but I can't stand how dirty of a fighter he is.

Cory Spinks, talks trash like he' s king kong but he ends up like tinkerbell.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

You have a pretty good point there. Hair extensions or no hair extensions I would not want to fight him in a boxing ring.

Here is my list for what it is worth.

    Favorites.

Miguel Cotto- I don't think there has been a fighter in the welterweight division since Tommy Hearns that brings that much of an aura of genuine excitement. I say that in the terms of knockouts. It is like everyone waits on the edge of their seats for the stoppage.

Vernon Forrest- I wish he had never had to take those two years off for the shoulder injury. Vernon would have been mentioned with the likes of Felix Trinidad, Shane Mosley and Oscar De La Hoya.

Roy Jones- I know he is nowhere near the Roy Jones of old but in his day the man was flawless. not in a technically sound way but in a style no one but he could be successful at. Today I like him as an announcer and the fact he has become honest about things. Like the fact he did not go to the UK and fight Joe Calzaghe purposely.

    Least Favorite.

Bernard Hopkins- Great fighter but always complaining about the respect he supposedly does not get and how great he is. If maybe he put on an exciting bout now and again he would avoid the flack.

Floyd Mayweather JR- He is great in the ring but never shuts up outside of it.
