October month in Germany looks pretty great...
And not just because of this, but for boxing as well!
October 4th:
- Arthur Abraham - Raul Marquez (IBF Middleweight title)
- Also on the card Yoan Pablo Hernandez
October 11th
- Samuel Peter - Vitali Klitshcko (WBC Heavyweight title)
October 18th
- Hugo Hernan Garay - Juergen Braehmer (WBA Light Heavyweight title)
- Sergei Dzindiruk - Joel Julio (WBO Light Middleweight title)
October 25th
- Mikkel Kessler - opponent not worth mentioning (title not worth mentioning)
Best of all this is that all these fights are broadcast on public tv, and that here in Denmark we get those channels!
Re: October month in Germany looks pretty great...
Btw: What do you guys make of the Braehmer-Garay and the Dzindiruk-Julio fights? Interesting?
Is Garay top tier (i.e. capable of making a splash at 175, something Braehmer is most definitely not)? Haven't seen him much. Julio is certainly more entertaining and would most definitely be a higher profile champ than Dzindiruk, so obviously I'll be rooting for him. But will he win?

I can't for the better part of me understand why Julio is going to Germany to fight Sergei?
Sergeis no joke and very ackward fighter whos makes his opponents look bad. I thought Julio was in line to fight "Maravilla" Martinez? Or at least I read that. Wonder what kind of money $$$ he's getting for the fight as the travel and all comes out of his pocket.
Now that I'm thinking about it I would have probably seen that fight IF it would have came off between Sergio Martinez vs. Joel Julio.
Instead I'll be seeing Sergio Martinez vs. Alex Bunema for the Interim WBC Light Middle title.

As far as Garay well I think it's a pickem fight. Both guys winding down a bit for me. I think it goes to whoever get's the extra push and the one who keeps busier. Have not seem Brahemer as of late... Garay in his last fight looked a bit lethargic and plotty at times but fought with a lot of determination and will.
Re: October month in Germany looks pretty great...
Shame that you know beforehand the results of all the fights. I mean in Germany you have to knock someone out to get a draw.

And why is that so...surely you can give some examples(hopefully without using the name Sven Ottke),can't you...
I mean... how many of these so called robberies have you actually seen to make a claim like this...
Seriously...I'm sick and tired of this "everybody gets robbed in Germany" bias...

Beyer v Green I was extremely dodgy and the ref was made to change his mind. He clearly states the butt was an accident and then minutes later Green is DQ'd.
