In your opinion how should Pernell Whitaker's record be regarding these 6 fights ? just one thing i'll point out firstly, i don't see why the 2nd Wilfredo Rivera fight is considered controversial. I thought Pernell Whitaker won it pretty clearly IMO.

I think u have it pretty right ICB, altho i think at the time of first watching it i had ODLH winning a close decision. May have to watch it again tho.

Pretty much the same but:

Rivera/whitaker 1= Rivera 115-113

Rivera/Whitaker 2= Whitaker 115-112 ? It looks a mess on the scoresheet,round 6 point deduction after 5th round KD (10-9 Rivera)?

I vaugly remember Vasquez not getting a KD when Whitaker was going into his squating technique??Butt hit the canvas or something

Yep,just flipped through.I refuse to tell you my score in that one :-X;D. All I'll say is I had a biased opinion of Whitaker back then and wanted him to get beat,I admit it Lol.Have since come to respect his skills more so than judging him on antics from then.3rd round..."Pea gets cornered and tagged good,Ouch" ?

Pernell although maybe not everybodies favorite to watch , was in my opinion simply fantastic , he fought guys like Roger Mayweather after only 11 fights and won , he fought the very best , and in his prime you couldnt hit him with a bag of gravel. an amazing defensive fighter , better in my opinion than Ray Leonard .

I gave ODLH the verdict by virtue of winning the last round, had it by 1 point.

Good summary ICB, the only thing I would change is the De La Hoya fight to a win, other than that I agree with everything else

I agree Oscar just about beat him.

I think Oscar beat him, I didn't see the same fight the judges did(while they were smoking crack), but I did see Oscar winning by a round or two.
