Fucking rats with wings. I hate them. I lose sleep because of their constant cooing. Not to mention shit all over my balcony. I suppose I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pay some guy to put up a screen around my balcony. Not my first choice. I'd much rather blow them to smithereens, but that would probably get me harassed by Peta.

I like the rice idea, maybe I'll give it a try, there doesn't seem to be any other types of birds around my balcony. Don't think my neighbors would appreciate a BBgun though, such is apartment living. The hardware store has very big rattraps, I was thinking of trying that.Quote:

Mike Tyson has a lot of pigeon pets around the world. Pigeons can be very loyal and smart. I guess if you can't beat them, befriend them. Feed them food away from your place.

I remember hearing about the rice thing when I was 11. Seemed pretty cool.
Now though I think surely there's a less painfull way to wipe the fuckers out... not a nice way to go.
I had the same problem in the summer when I was working lates... at about 3-4am the sun wud start to come up and light my uncurtained loft bedroom... the window would be open because the roof heats up in the summer and makes the room like an oven.
There'd always be some fucking bird on my chimney singing away... wish I had a bb to shoot hte fucker

Get a cut out silouette of a hawk or better still one of those cheap hard realistic plastic models from one of those cheap chinese shops. String it up on a long thin cord on an angle through your balcony opening like thick fishing wire with a bit of slack so it swings around in the wind.
We use one on a yatch, it keeps the sea gulls off it ok, otherwise they sh!t all over it during the week. Ours is made from a painted polystyrene body with metal wings and head and tail.It hurts when it hits you.

Sparrows on the other hand if you set alot of hooks up on a line and catch one the rest come to see what the fuss is about and you collect the lot.

Ghost Dog had pigeons. So did The General (an Irish criminal movie). I was at a guys house last night and he had racing pigeons and they would come home 600 miles. That is crazy.
I don't know about pigeons, but when we would go the Belle Isle my father would feed the seagulls chicken with hot sauce on it. Dumb birds would scream and keep eating. I heard alka seltzer kills them, but I wouldn't know if pigeons would eat that. Something about them not being able to pass gas and imploding.
