Barrera in training video. (Looks ripped!)
http://i40.tinypic.com/14tbw5k.jpg
This is our first glimpse of Barrera as he prepares to fight Amir Khan on March 14th.. There is a significant difference in body shape to the guy who had a couple of warm ups in China and Mexico afew weeks ago.
Barreras looking as chizzled as he has done in years infact to me he looks better than when he fought Marquez and Pacquiao. Also theres no signs of any serious scar tissue from the cut he suffered in his last fight.
If Hopkins aged 45 and Mosley aged 37 can destroy invincible looking fighters then Barrera whos much younger can do it to a far less invincible looking prospect. I think people picking Kahn are going to be embarrassed by their judgement on March 15th.

Yeah, I saw this last night during the Prizefighter show, Marco does look well prepared.
The only thing that stops him winning this fight may be age.
Re: Barrera in training video. (Looks ripped!)
He looks in good shape, but it still does'nt alter the fact that he is past his best and there for the taking.

.........Barrera........Khan
Age: .....35..........22
Height:...5′ 6″..... 5′ 10″
Reach: ..70“....... Def more (not on Boxrec)
Fights had: 72 .....20
He has a lot againsed him, his best weight ain't 135 and he has been in some serious wars. It would be a crackin win if he can KO Khan, fingers crossed.

Fights has 72-20;D Experience advantage this will defenetly come into play in their fight
I do think Barrera will pull it off.
Re: Barrera in training video. (Looks ripped!)
He looks ripped much like the way Chris Byrd looked when he went lightheavy weight. =o

yeah but if you looked at chris Byrd's face, it was all sucked in like a skeleton. Also Chris was coming down in weight and Barrera is going up so I don't see the connection.

Would be nice to see him turn back the clock.
Re: Barrera in training video. (Looks ripped!)
I am 50/50 on this fight. Barrera is my all time favorite fighter. One of the all time great combinations of intelligence, skill, and heart. He seems well prepared for this fight. Also, i am not sold on Khan. He is talented and is physically the bigger man, but he doesn't fight smartly and can be easily sparked. So why do i think it's a 50/50 fight? You can never underestimate youth. Marco has had a long career, filled with many wars. If he comes into this fight passive, he could be in trouble. But if he comes into the fight sharp, i think he has too much smarts and craftiness for the younger fighter. I am hoping older legend has another great performance in him.
Re: Barrera in training video. (Looks ripped!)
Barrera looks in good shape. I cannot wait for this fight, Barrera has only been beaten convincingly in recent years by Pac IMO. He is past his best, but he is facing a fighter who is hardly pound for pound material. I'm sure Khan will start fast, but once Barrera begins to close down the ring....that's where I hope it will start to get interesting.
Re: Barrera in training video. (Looks ripped!)
Agreed Miles,
The height (and I imagine reach) difference is going to be a huge advantage for Khan if he can utilise it.
I see this fight as Khan's for the taking if he fight's smart. He has all of the advantages barring experience. He just needs to swallow his pride if need be and box, box, box. Not be drawn in to a war.
If Barrera manages to close the gap effectively he wins.
I see this Khan by K.O. but hope it goes the distance because Barrera is an absolute legend and one of the greatest fighters ever.

Never can tell these days, seems as if the old warriors who suffered a loss or two are coming back with points to prove, unless Barrera ends up on the Chris Byrd end of things when he looks great but ends up getting beat embarrassingly.
If Kahn wins though it really will be a version of Barrera no where near his best. A primed Marco Antonio Barrera beats Amir Kahn like the school yard bully and a class of kindergarten kids
