If Khan wins tonight,NO EXCUSES PLEASE!
I dont know if its a recent trend but I have noticed in the last few years how good victorys are played down after the fight has taken place by experts/fans who pick the wrong winner.
For example most thought that De La Hoya was going to beat Pac-Man but when he lost it was not a case of Pac-man being good rather ODLH being bad.
Same thing happened with Calzaghe-Lacy and Hatton-Tsyu.
Seems to me that a lot of so called experts dont like it when the pick the wrong result and have to make excuses for it.
So after the fight tonight I just hope that the winner gets the credit he deservers.

Barrera is older, smaller and rated way past his best by everyone.
Khan can't really win in this one.

That's the point.
If Barrera wins everyone laughs at Khan, if Barrera loses he was shot.
Khan can't win ;)

thats about the top and bottom of it really... but got to say it credit to Warren and Khan for taking this fight and after seeing Barrera GOING THOUGH WITH IT 8)
but you are totally right... it is a no win situation.

You're right there, damned if you do or don't.
But it could also depend on how Barerra loses if he loses.
If he goes out there and doesnt do anything and just gets beat for 12 rounds and not pulling the trigger then yeah the shot comments will come in like no tomorrow.
But if he goes in there and gives it all that he has left giving 110 percent and Khan beats him still then I'd say they both win. Because it would show Barerra can still go and that Khan may be ready to use all that potential.
It all depends how the fight goes.
Same goes for Khan. If he goes out there and gets knocked out then it will turn into Laugh at a Khan month. But if he goes out there and loses a tough fight against Barerra who brought his all and he brings his all as well then him and Barerra both win.
So I guess it depends on how one or the other loses or wins this fight. What if its a draw? :(
Re: If Khan wins tonight,NO EXCUSES PLEASE!
Personally I'll give Khan credit as long as Barrera doesn't quit early or get blown away early - Signs he shouldn't have even been in the ring.
I agree it's a good match made by FW.
I didn't think it would go through ;D

It is the will of Allah then ;).

I'm always giving Warren stick but I agree totally. Props to Warren and Khan for going through with this. It's great for the fans and I think the card looks pretty strong. Fantastic.
Re: If Khan wins tonight,NO EXCUSES PLEASE!
I second this 100%. It's a lose-lose situation for Khan.. if he loses he will recieve more insults and if he wins he will be accused of fighting another shot man... which it really shouldn't be, because if khan wins this he should deserve all the credit in the world.
But I imagine the majority on this forum (at least the fan boys/ignorant ones) to still hate on Khan when he wins and will hail barrera as the second coming if he wins.
Re: If Khan wins tonight,NO EXCUSES PLEASE!
I don't think it's an out and out lose-lose situation for him. Of course a win won't mean a tenth as much than 7 yrs ago, but it'll still be Khan's biggest victory. O)f course he could easily turn it into a negative if he starts proclaiming after a win that he beat one of the legends outright.

There's nothing wrong with waiting till after the fight to pass judgement. It makes sense to do so. How else are you supposed to assess the performance of the fighters? I've noticed a few people saying that if you are going to say a fighter is past it, then you have to say so before the fight, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you think about it.
Case in point is PAC DLH. Obviously DLH was absolute shit, You're not going to say otherwise are you? But we didn't know that DLH would be shit before the fight, did we?

You're 100% correct.
Re: If Khan wins tonight,NO EXCUSES PLEASE!
the more i think about it the more i think khan is gonna get sparked out. i can see the plan of the khan camp box at range in and out with speed, yeah thats all very well but sooner or later barrera will catch up with khan and test that chin. we all seen khan decked by limond and gomez, and yeah khan has got off the deck to stop them both, but this is barrera i cant see him letting khan of the hook WHEN he catches him.. i only see a khan win if he has improved dramatically and barrera is totally shot

Yeah, he's got a lot of cult followers. I hope Marco won't offer them special kool-aide cocktail if he losses. Coz I'm pretty sure they'll chug that mofo with no hesitation.
