Barrera is older, smaller and rated way past his best by everyone.
Khan can't really win in this one.

3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Personally I'll give Khan credit as long as Barrera doesn't quit early or get blown away early - Signs he shouldn't have even been in the ring.
I agree it's a good match made by FW.
I didn't think it would go through![]()

Yeah he needs the fight to be a hard one to gain any credit from it. It's like if Calzaghe had done to Kessler what he did to Lacy, he wouldn't have got much credit for it. Kessler would have just been over-hyped so a tough win for Khan is the best thing for him. A blow out might land him a world title shot before he is ready as well. Maybe his chin will never be ready.
Khan wouldn't be given credit if he was fighting Barrera, Jesus and the KFC Colonel at the same time and still won.. honestly, I think he will always be hated on. Part of the reason is probably due to Frank Warren, I mean Hatton was also labelled a 'protected fighter' for a while when he was with Warren.. maybe Khan would do better to sign with a different promoter, e.g golden boy.
Khan gets too much hate. I hope he retires the old man Barrera and has a good career. Barrera needs to stay retired. He has no business fighting on.
I second this 100%. It's a lose-lose situation for Khan.. if he loses he will recieve more insults and if he wins he will be accused of fighting another shot man... which it really shouldn't be, because if khan wins this he should deserve all the credit in the world.
But I imagine the majority on this forum (at least the fan boys/ignorant ones) to still hate on Khan when he wins and will hail barrera as the second coming if he wins.![]()
I don't think it's an out and out lose-lose situation for him. Of course a win won't mean a tenth as much than 7 yrs ago, but it'll still be Khan's biggest victory. O)f course he could easily turn it into a negative if he starts proclaiming after a win that he beat one of the legends outright.
You're right there, damned if you do or don't.
But it could also depend on how Barerra loses if he loses.
If he goes out there and doesnt do anything and just gets beat for 12 rounds and not pulling the trigger then yeah the shot comments will come in like no tomorrow.
But if he goes in there and gives it all that he has left giving 110 percent and Khan beats him still then I'd say they both win. Because it would show Barerra can still go and that Khan may be ready to use all that potential.
It all depends how the fight goes.
Same goes for Khan. If he goes out there and gets knocked out then it will turn into Laugh at a Khan month. But if he goes out there and loses a tough fight against Barerra who brought his all and he brings his all as well then him and Barerra both win.
So I guess it depends on how one or the other loses or wins this fight. What if its a draw?![]()
