Pacquiao KO of Hatton, most devestating since Hearns-Duran
I cant remember a more devestating KO in a top level fight since Hearns-Duran.
Hatton was out before he hit the matt.
How can such a small man generate such awsome power.

Yeah it was incredible, it was Tyson Spinks all over again except this time the little guy was laying down the ass kicking.
It will go down in history as one of greatest wins ever alongside Hagler Hearns and Luis Schmeling.
I can't remember an undisputed champ and p4p star being destroyed so emphatically by a man basically coming up two division from a year before.

Brutal, just brutal.
Pac is truly a freak. And I mean that in a good way. ;)
Re: Pacquiao KO of Hatton, most devestating since Hearns-Duran
Yes - it was terrible. Ricky will find it difficult to come to terms with the nature of defeat that's for sure. Look how we're taking it :-\
Pac will go onto greatness - if he can avoid Amir Khan
Amir Amir Amir Amir !!!! ;D

Pac has a devastating arsenal now... I thought the straight left right down the middle of an attacking Hatton would have been the weapon.. But his Jab was nailing hatton every time.. His right hook is dangerous for any righty, especially being able to time it well to avoid a left hook...
And that left hook was absolutely one of the most brutal i've ever seen.. 2 rounds in against a 140 king, and his head nearly kinked completely off his neck..
The fact of the speed, and the power it connects at is just amazing... What a fighter to watch at higher weights...

It would have been something like Mike Tyson had it been in the heavyweight.

In all honesty, the way Hatton has now been destroyed by the two top dogs he's faced, can only bring to my mind that maybe he was ranked a bit too high on the p4p list to begin with. Top 10? I don't think he ever belonged there. Top 20? That would've been fine.

I think the fact he absolutely ruled 140, and did travel okay at 147. He wasn't nearly the force he was once he moved up though. And Floyd was just the freak of our era. He was a big fast guy at 147, and Hatton just wasn't strong enough there.. I think it was fair for him to be top 10 as far as his winning ability, but he was always there to be beaten by fast guys who could time him right.. But that is only a select few, hence he was up there in the p4p's, but never top 3 or 4.

I was thinking the same thing myself straight after the fight finished. another it reminded me of though I don't like to think of it was Jones vs Glen Johnson. Jones and Hatton were both lying stiff very similar!

I don't know that I would agree that he did "okay" at 147. First time he ventures out of 140, he gets wobbled and barely escapes against the light-hitting Luis Collazo. Then gets KO'ed by Mayweather. Had he ever met an elite fighter at 147 (Cotto, Margarito, Clottey), he would have been annihilated. At 140, he beat Kostya Tszyu in a fight I've never liked due to Hatton's mauling style, and the fact he got away with things he would've never gotten away with anywhere else. His KO of Castillo was impressive, in that it was a one-punch body shot. But other than that, his resume has never said top 10 p4p to me.

Surely you can say that about many fighters in hindsight though, Jermain Taylor, Christian Mijares, Margarito, Pavlik, Antonio Tarver, etc.
Hatton definitely deserved his p4p status imo. he defeated Kosta Tszyu and became the undisputed king of light welter. Obviously he drops out now but you can't say he didn't deserve to be there any more than you can say Rafael Marquez never deserved to be there becuase he's lost his last two, or Diego Coralles.

Mayweather is better than Cotto, Marg and Clottey all put together. So how can you say "Had he ever met an elite fighter at 147"?

Are you on "crack"? Mayweather's elite... just not at 147. What part of that don't you understand? This is boxing. You can be great at one weight and not at another. Again... Hatton never met an elite 147-pound fighter.
