It will go down in history as one of greatest wins ever alongside Hagler Hearns and Luis Schmeling.
I can't remember an undisputed champ and p4p star (see comment below) being destroyed so emphatically by a man basically coming up two division from a year before.
In all honesty, the way Hatton has now been destroyed by the two top dogs he's faced, can only bring to my mind that maybe he was ranked a bit too high on the p4p list to begin with. Top 10? I don't think he ever belonged there. Top 20? That would've been fine.
I think the fact he absolutely ruled 140,
and did travel okay at 147. He wasn't nearly the force he was once he moved up though. And Floyd was just the freak of our era. He was a big fast guy at 147, and Hatton just wasn't strong enough there.. I think it was fair for him to be top 10 as far as his winning ability, but he was always there to be beaten by fast guys who could time him right.. But that is only a select few, hence he was up there in the p4p's, but never top 3 or 4.
