Most innapropriate nick names for fighters
The post about Johnny Nelson being the "entertainer" made me make the thread.
Another is Chris "Simply the Best" Eubanks.
What are others?
Re: Most innapropriate nick names for fighters
Jermain 'Bad intentions' Taylor
Jermaine Jackson has worse intentions ;D
Re: Most innapropriate nick names for fighters
If his troubles with the IRS are true, Floyd "Money" Mayweather is pretty ironic.
Re: Most innapropriate nick names for fighters
Zab "Super" Judah, super what? super chicken dance?
Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik, he's not hard to miss so don't see how he has any similarity to a ghost
Ivan "The Iron Boy" Calderon, he's in his mid 30's and doesn't have pop in his punches

I always thought his nickname came from the color of his skin?
Re: Most innapropriate nick names for fighters
Ricardo "The Matador" Mayorga. You tell me.
Michael "Second to" Nunn. More of a play on words than an actual nickname.
Humberto "La Chiquita" Gonzalez. FYI, Chiquita translates into little girl. :rotflmao:
Andre "The All Terrain Fighter" Ward.
Owen "What the Heck" Beck.
Steve "Two Pound" Forbes.
I had a boxing trainer, Joe Byrd, the father of Chris Bryd, whose name was "Toy Block" The newspapers gave him that name, although I never figured that one out.

Michael Nunn's name was appropriate for a bit and Owen is what the heck Beck!

"Money" fits Floyd's persona a lot better than "Pretty Boy Floyd" which is a reference to a gangster from the the 20's/30's. There's nothing Gangster about Floyd.

Steve Forbes nickname is quite appropriate though, it's because he was a prematured baby and he was weighting 2 pounds when he's born, he also said in an interview that he didn't like that nickname but that it has been given to him by some friends for a long time.
Thus said, I accidentally marked the thread as inappropriate, Sorry for that SADDO.
John "the quiet man" Ruiz. He's not fuckin' quiet, his mouth runs like a train and he's always jabbing jabbing and grabbing.
Fres "The Big O" Osquendo.... the Big O..... well...
Eric "Lucky luke" Lucas.... funniest thing is; there was a contest to find him a nickname and this is what the winner came in with.... it's ludicrous.
Re: Most innapropriate nick names for fighters
Darrin 'schoolboy' Van Horn....he skipped the course on ducking
Greg 'The mutt' Haugen...sorry,that actually was exact
Double M Michael Moorer...at the end it was double D's :p

Don't you think it's a little ironic that you marked the inappropriate nickname's thread as inappropriate. :biglaugh:
Btw, I thought that Ruiz's nickname pertained to his *yawn* jab and clinch style. Quiet and uneventful? Although I'd think that John "Shut Eye" Ruiz would have fit.

That is a nice irony indeed hehe. As for Ruiz, he should have been called "Jab and Grab", I stated it before and will again, this is the most appropriate I think but I disgress with you, his mouth runs way too much for a quiet guy, even Stoney Stone in his corner talked too much;)

Wouldn't we all wish Ruiz would quiet down and either learn to box or retire.

Except maybe for a madman, we do all wish... then we could rename him perhaps as well "the man to be quiet soon"

Jermaine Taylor was the first person that popped into my head when I saw this thread title. Should be Jermaine "Out of Gas" Taylor.
