Don't you think it's a little ironic that you marked the inappropriate nickname's thread as inappropriate.

Btw, I thought that Ruiz's nickname pertained to his *yawn* jab and clinch style. Quiet and uneventful? Although I'd think that John "Shut Eye" Ruiz would have fit.
That is a nice irony indeed hehe. As for Ruiz, he should have been called "Jab and Grab", I stated it before and will again, this is the most appropriate I think but I disgress with you, his mouth runs way too much for a quiet guy, even Stoney Stone in his corner talked too much
Wouldn't we all wish Ruiz would quiet down and either learn to box or retire.

Except maybe for a madman, we do all wish... then we could rename him perhaps as well "the man to be quiet soon"

Jermaine Taylor was the first person that popped into my head when I saw this thread title. Should be Jermaine "Out of Gas" Taylor.

There is a british boxer called Anthony Small. Anyway this guy calls himself "Sugar Ray Clay Jones Junior". So 4 all time greats in that name and though not bad he certainly has not and never will live upto any of these fighters.

Agreed, the quiet man won't ever shut the **** up and stop complaining. I always thought he was called the quiet man because his Lawyer/legal team was the one that did all the talking and getting the rematches .. injunctions etc.

Then again he looked pretty quiet near the end of this video.

They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

    How about Hector "macho" Camacho.

His tacktics was just a case of run hit run, then hold if the other guy got close.

in his defense he was a lot more aggressive before the Rosario fight, after that beating he took in the later rounds he became a bit more defensive, and well finally got a bit more aggressive and took his beating like a warrior against Chavez

He's calls himself that as they were his 4 favourite fighters growing up thus his inspiration to start boxing. He's not being cocky or anything when he says that.

That's true. When he first went into Fitzroy Lodge, like many of us who go in first time, he got little help, so he learnt to box, by watching old fights of Leonard, Robinson, Ali & RJJ. He uses the nickname as a way of honouring what he learnt off them. But given the way Anthony is, people do take it as arrogance, which in this case it isn't

Scott Pemberton always makes me laugh... His alias doesn't mean what you think it would.

"The Sandman"... You figure it's cuz he puts people to sleep? You'd be wrong. This douche got his name cuz of how sandy he'd get riding his dirt bike

Herol "Bomber" Graham couldn't be further from the truth. Mind you though that was a smart trick, because in his early career. It used to fool opponents into thinking he was a banger. Then when they get in the ring they were completely thrown off.

Well you have to admit that Jermain Taylor at least has bad intentions for 80% of the fight.

How about Bernard "the Exectioner" Hopkins. I don't think that he really executes. The only people he puts to sleep are the fans. He gets all the high profile fights and just escapes with a win/loss. Is the last person he KOed DLH?

Carl Froch should be "the Mule" rather than "the Cobra". I recall cobras being fast.

    - and I quote from some random guy on the internet
