Anyone else think the main board has gone to shit?

I have not been posting much lately due to not even being on-line too much but I have been stopping in now and again making a post here and there I noticed something on the main boards.....

It seems that either it consist of everyone bitching about Pacquiao fans, posters that were once quality starting to act like clowns stating shit of zero worth just to state it...EG- Talking bad about a fighter for the simple fact it will piss another poster off...

The over abundance of links to other sites in post...One guy just uses his site logo and link as his Sig then makes threads using articles from his site to promote traffic...

I am not sure what has happened lately....Mods not around too much? I also noticed a lot of this seemed to begin (I could be wrong) after Mick stopped being around so often...

Maybe it is just me and I have been logging on during times when it seems as though there is just shit on the boards not even worth reading....

Just curious if anyone else has noticed these things?

Things like this just did not happen in the past...Everyone was a quality poster and we had the best forum on the net hands down...Kind of disappointed

Talking as somebody who is online almost all day and has been for the last 5 years, I disagree with what you say. I don't see any fall in standards. If this place didn't have the amount of freedom for posters to speak as they wish (within reason) it wouldn't be the place it is and would be like so many other forums that are run by ego trippin power hungry moderators that spoil the site.

I think the highlighted part of your post probably means that you really don't know what goes on around here. I spend hours each day going through threads and checking for anything that I think is affecting the site, if I see anything I don't like, it's gone, simple as that and the same goes for all the other Mods on here, who do their best to make this a fun place to be.

I don't criticize your writing for the site, so do me a favour and don't criticize how we moderate the forums.

I just made a statement and asked a question...Don't think anywhere did I say the Mods suck did I? No I didn't pretty sure I just stated in question forum that maybe mods aren't around that much I am pretty sure I also stated that In question form if maybe it was just me and I just happen to log on when there is a bunch of shit post...

This whole thing was blown out of context...I was genuinly asking a question about things because like I stated I have not been around and the few times I have been I seem to have come across the worst moments..

I was genuinly asking about mods because I thought maybe there are not as many as before...all were simple questions...I never singled anyone out etc,,,

I think things are pretty much the same as always. You will always have posters who follow a particular agenda and if that agenda eventually becomes a nasty agenda, then they get dealt with appropriately. But on the whole I still think we have a lot of decent people here and they treat each other with respect. If someone has a go needlessly then there will always be someone else to back you up. This is a good place and we treat each other on the whole with the respect that we have come to deserve. The mods are pretty much the same old mods and I think they do a good job. I don't really see a site that has degenerated into Eastside boxing territory, not by a long shot.

I dont really think so.Actually I think its picked up in new members and good contributions.Many old vets missed lately but many drift in and drift out.Ive almost been reading more than posting those long winded hard to decipher posts haha but think we're still on the right track.Really wish we had better organized big fight sticky threads but its getting better.All in all I think the Mods are top notch and keep things together.

DK - If you've not been round how can you possibly judge the site? You may have dropped by on bad day, let's face it happens to all forums, some ponce starts trolling - if you logged on then it may not look great but the mods are pretty hot on that and give everyone a lot of freedom to say what they like....which leads me to the next point
