Floyd Mayweather is a runner. Derrick Gainer IS a runner. Andre Dirrell is a runner and a winner and a class person. Just cause Floyd fights defensively and picks his spots doesn't mean he's running around the ring every fight.
James Toney hadn't won a round until he knocked out Michael Nunn. You don't hear this often now but it used to be gospel and just isn't true, he had three or four good rounds in a row before he KO'd him.
I could go on but I'll leave that for now.
Floyd is a runner. Even when he gets a shit fighter like Baldomir in front of him he coasts to a win. No killer instinct, no desire to get a KO and no desire to please boxing fans. Everything a great fighter does, Floyd does not.
Baldomir is the best example of Floyd as a runner but other than that how many times has he lately? Gatti, Corley, Mitchell, Judah, Hatton, Marquez, none of those I would consider "runner" performances. Lack of a killer instinct is another thing entirely, just cause he's not brawling doesn't mean he's running though.
He's not fan friendly nor entertaining, considering the millions he earns I think he is quite pathetic.
His biggest challenges at Welter were there in front of him and he retired. Why?

LOL, I'm not talking about him not being exciting or avoiding challenges or fighting shot fighters or beating someone more impressively than other people have, I'm talking about him being a runner which he for the most part isn't. That's it. You're confusing me with a Floyd fan ;D

Oh yeah, JMM. Granted there were circumstances what with the weight and wear and tear but JMM looked outclassed and no one's even come remotely close to doing that to him before.
